'Proper Twelve' is my new favourite. An Irish Whisky.
Mix it with refrigerated Schweppes diet Dry ginger ale. Very nice.

ooooooooowwwwwww, spirits can do that much more than beer.

I had a similar night on tequila. Not so good. Quite trippy.

The missus drove home and then more embarrasingly the copper that lived in the unit below us had to help her get me up the stairs!

Mind you this was in 1968!

I am pretty careful with my drinking.

I do not drink and drive. Not one drink.. It's an easy rule to follow.

A few years ago I was at a party that lots of cops were at. I was the driver so was drinking coke and fizzys.
A few offered me a drink, 'No thanks, I'm driving tonight so it is easier for me to have 0 drinks. That way I don't have to keep count. '

They were more than happy with that.
They have probably seen crashes where alcohol featured and were very happy I had drawn a simple line between drinking and driving.
It is really easy to do and not at all a problem for me to be out somewhere and not drink alcohol.
A nice sort of feeling to get behind the wheel at the end of a nice evening and think, 'lets see, I am driving so how many drinks did I have ? Yes - 0 !!!!'

Well I have a sort of opposite story to that.

In the days when we all drank and drove, a copper friend of ours invited me over to his house to wet the first borns head.

On arrival his house was full of coppers all in uniform and on the booze.

I drank like everyone else and drove home.

Nowdays wouldnt even think of doing that!

I have never liked whiskey.

Despite my Dutch heritage not that fond of gin—tho Bombay Blue gin with all the spices is heavenly.

St Agnes Brandy I would drink the most out of all the spirits.

I haven't tried that one but I prefer scotch to single blend whiskeys. I used to love my whiskys when I was younger, It was my drink of choice.
Had to be with cola or straight.

I've been bat shit crazy drunk on whiskey many a night when I was younger and clubbing, never once turned me of it though.

I can't say the same for Sambuca. I got drunk on that once and then I couldn't touch it again for about ten years

Can't say I care for whisky much, in spite of my Scottish heritage. I would rather have a nice glass of red wine......
