The right way to do things
There is sometimes a right way to do things.
1/ When putting a new roll of toilet paper on the holder, hang it so it unrolls from over the top, not from underneath.
Makes ALL the difference. ALL the good hotels do that.

2/ Whipper Snipper the edges around the lawns , THEN start up the lawn mower and mow them all.
If you feel like some gardening, do some weeding before the mowing, not after

When building a very large word document, say for do not cut and paste in styles from other documents, paste it int and format.
Just pasting in from other documents with different styles can great major problems later, including corruption of the file and loss of weeks of work.
Also every hours, save the document to new files name (version Vn.m) so you can go back to this last save in case of correction.
Start your document with very clean style setup as the template and everything you need. Any contributors must use this document template and styles when they produce input documents so when you come to do final merge has same style and works.
Lesson learned the hard way.

OH YES.
For a while I have been using lots of spreadsheets and I am not trained in them.
As you said, I save different versions of them pretty often.
If the new version works ok, well and good. If not, not a problem.

I 'break in' new shoes incrementally.
Put them on at home for 30 mins or so while I am not 'on my feet'
Then take them off and leave them well alone till later.
Put them on again later for another 30 mins or so.
After the 3rd time, they are very good. They have not been stressed, my feet have not been pinched.
