A Victorian MP has been sent death threats over his support of the government’s contentious pandemic laws, which will now get over the line.
The laws are expected to be enacted after the government secured enough votes for it to pass and conceded to several major amendments.
It required agonising negotiations with upper house MPs Rod Barton and Clifford Hayes.
A deal was struck with Mr Barton at the eleventh hour.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, he said the decision was necessary to avoid the threat of being locked out of other states once Victoria’s state of emergency expired in December.
“I’m comfortable with what we’re putting up,” Mr Barton said.
“This is a very different beast than what we had previously and
we can’t compare where the bill started from - you can’t compare it with a state of emergency.”
Following his support, Mr Barton was subject to a barrage of abuse online
including from a person who reportedly called for him to face the gallows.
Mr Barton was on Tuesday forced to make his Twitter account private.

SCANDAL: Who forced our internet company to DELETE the website 'Kill The Bill'?
Bullies won't stop us from standing up to save our democracy
By Avi Yemini | November 30, 2021
A secret complaint forced our most important Australian website KillTheBill.com.au off the internet today.
On the eve of one of the most controversial bill votes in living memory, which would grant Victorian Premier Dan Andrews dictator-like powers, our domain name was cancelled.
The domain was established to point to our petition which had recorded the will of more than 110,000 people calling on the Governor of Victoria to block Andrew's outrageous power-grab.
The bill puts Victoria into a permanent state emergency and gives the Andrews' government additional control over the lives of everyday Victorians already suffering under some of the harshest lockdown conditions anywhere in the world.
It leads us to ask an important question, who would benefit from this action? Well, the answer is secret.

And he ignored the petition which had recorded the will of more than 110,000 people.
That petition was deleted from the internet by unknown forces.

Pandemic Bill To Pass: Police Surround Parliament As Rod Barton Sells Out Victoria

These are some of the weakest concessions I have ever seen. The idiot seems to believe that setting up a few committees is going to save us.
A new joint parliamentary committee will be formed to oversee public health orders.
The committee will need to have a minority of government MPs and headed by someone from the crossbench or the Opposition, to ensure it is separate from the government in charge.
The body can recommend against proposed pandemic orders but it will need to go through a disallowance motion where it then must pass in both the lower and upper house.
All Andrews has conceded here is to allow an Independent to put a little bit of red tape over a bill which still allows the Premier to declare a pandemic at will. We are supposed to believe that a committee headed by a crossbencher or member of the Opposition, whose “recommendations” must pass both houses of parliament in order to halt pandemic orders, is a protection. The fact that this bill will likely pass courtesy of a crossbencher in the first place demonstrates how useless this is. All the government needs to do to block committee recommendations is to make further meaningless concessions to another idiot crossbencher.
This is how dictatorships works. Bureaucracy does not provide representation to the people or provide protection from tyranny. Bureaucracy is essential for tyranny to function. It is purpose made to bog down any kind of pushback in a mindless web of overlapping and contradictory rules, regulations and paperwork. Meanwhile those in power just keep pushing
their agenda with relentless fanaticism.
Furthermore, hundreds of thousands of Aussies have marched through Melbourne for weeks against this bill, but the government and media simply have worked in tandem to minimise and dismiss the genuine grievances of the people.
Ultimately, democracy itself does not work. It allows tyrants, cowards and incompetents to avoid responsibility for their actions by hiding behind the vote of the majority. It attracts psychopaths and midwits rather than genuine leaders.
It is refreshing that many purebloods understand that we cannot comply our way out of tyranny. The next step is to recognise that democracy, presented as the counter to tyranny, provides nothing of the sort.

Debate continues in parliament over Victoria's pandemic bill … 21 hours and counting
Parliamentary deliberations to create bespoke pandemic laws for Victoria are slowly edging towards a substantive vote, after 21 hours of debate.
The upper house has been debating the pandemic laws since 3:00pm yesterday, sitting right throughout the night.
The bill is being examined line by line by the Opposition and crossbench with dozens of amendments each requiring a vote.
Each vote takes at least five minutes. MPs are bleary-eyed and tired, with one crossbench MP, Tim Quilty, nodding off during debate.
The laws are designed to replace the state of emergency powers and give the government of the day the legal framework to manage a pandemic.
The government has made several amendments in order to secure the vote of four crossbenchers needed to pass the laws.
Once passed, the bill must return to the lower house for review.

Next - Dan will have a vote to make him a lifelong dictator
just like Kim Jong-Un and President Xi.
We do live in a one party communist dictatorship.
