Cleaning the oven top

Post by sprintcyclist » Sat Oct 23, 2021 8:43 pm

Our oven top is stainless steel . We don't clean stuff much.
The oil residue on the top is dried and baked on.

Any thoughts on how to remove it?

If it's stainless steel, and not just chromed.
Buy some " gumption" and with a bit of elbow grease it will look like new.

Get a handheld steam cleaner from Aldi or KMart. They're only about $25-$30. That's what I use on my stainless steel cooktop and oven.

Buy a can of oven cleaner -
spray it on and clean it off the next day.
Wear gloves and put on the extractor fan so you don't breathe the fumes.

Did try oven cleaner but only for 30 mins.
A longer time is a good idea

Yes - oven cleaners only work quickly on a hot surface.
