Did you ever get the cane at school?

Funny I just heard Michael Kirby (The judge) on TV talking getting the cane at school.

I did once !

Got called to the headmasters office and got three for smoking!



Dont know who dobbed me in but took my punishment without complaint!

For 'cutting a corner' while running a circuit of a track.
It was a bit unwarranted.

We had a psycho teacher -
before giving the cane he'd say:

1 for pain,
2 for tears and
3 for a complete nervous breakdown.

A caning from him would be remembered for the rest of your life.
The sound of the cane whistling through the air could be heard first and
then the terrible sound of WACK as it hit
the poor victim's arse.
A student couldn't sit down for a week after that.

At work I was the same. So I was one very skilled dobber.

Fast forward to today : It was a tough gig for me NOT to dob in people who broke lockdown rules. But I resisted the urge. The fact that they were my neighbours had something to do with it too lmao.

No one here knows of anyone wth Covid19. Even now.

Once i go a choice of detention or cane. So I went for the cane.

We had a math master that was known for jumping from a chair as he swing the cane.

Once in primary I got the 1 meter ruler over my arse.

Personally I think the cane was not such a bad thing. Kids today have no fear or respect of authority. The kids are now too soft.

I think parents of today are too soft on their kids!

I doubt my grand kids have ever been given a whack by their parents for misbehaving!

Not that I smacked my kids much but they did get an occasional smack!
