I can see a need for the dole when made redundant or even sacked.Neferti~ wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 1:32 pmGreat idea. I agree totally.Valkie wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 1:15 pm
My preference?
Take them off tge dole and put them into the army or a compulsory social service where they help areas of need.
You know, like the farmers and food production industries.
Urgent public service repairs etc.
Additionally, loss of benifits if they refuse to move to areas where there is work.
Simples.
But only as a stop gap and only as an emergency "short term" exercise.
In actual fact, even a dole the same value as you previous wage would be ideal.
But it MUST END after a finite period, definitely no longer tgan 12 months.
Some people se the dole as an income, as a right and i have even heard people say, " their wage".
Some cultures even see it as their right and demand more and more.
What some people do not quite understand.
Is that the dole comes from our taxes.
Taxes paid by working people who already pay high enough taxes already.
The average working Australian already works approximately 4 months a year for nothing but paying tax.
If dole bludgers want more, it means that someone either has to go without, or someone will have to pay more tax.
The grubberment will never cut their costs.
Politicians and public servants will never take a pay cut.
Business will never pay more tax without a serious argument and withdrawal of tge brown paper bags of bribes to politicians and public serve us.
That leaves the poor old workers who will again be slugged.
