I do not want to be alarmist, but I have just heard from two different sources,
food companies being briefed tonight the Victoria's lockdown will last to the New Year.
If that is a fact, our society as we know it,
famlies, children, small business won't survive without great pain.

I'd love to see these arseholes imprisoned for a couple of months. That would bring this crap to an end instantly.

Police arrested 218 people, including three in custody for assaulting officers, and issued 236 fines.
Each person arrested will be fined $5,452 for breaching lockdown restrictions, the spokeswoman said.

Melbourne gets on to CNN news.
Australia suffers its worst day of Covid-19 pandemic
as anti-lockdown protests flare
By Paul Devitt, Angus Watson and Nectar Gan, CNN
Updated 0910 GMT (1710 HKT) August 21, 2021
Thousands of anti-lockdown protesters swarm the streets of Melbourne, Victoria, on August 21.
(CNN)Thousands of protesters defied coronavirus lockdowns to hit the streets of Australia's largest cities on Saturday, as the country recorded its highest single-day caseload since the pandemic began.
The states of New South Wales (NSW) -- home to Australia's most populous city, Sydney -- and Victoria reported a total of 886 infections Saturday, amid a raging outbreak of the Delta variant.
Hundreds of unmasked protesters were seen marching through Melbourne's Central Business District before confronting police hours after a snap lockdown was announced for the entire state of Victoria.
Six officers were hospitalized in the protests, suffering suspected broken noses, a broken thumb and concussions, police said in a statement.
Police used pepper ball rounds and pepper spray against some members of the crowd, estimated to be more than 4,000 strong. Hundreds of fines were handed out for breaching health ordinances and 218 people were arrested -- including three for assaulting officers, Victoria police said.

Victoria's top police officer has condemned "selfish" demonstrators who attended an anti-lockdown protest yesterday, as Victoria recorded 65 new local cases of COVID-19.
Key points:
Of the new cases, 55 are linked to known outbreaks and 10 are under investigation
There were 44,147 test results received yesterday and 26,149 doses of vaccine were given at state-run sites
Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton has condemned violent protesters who attacked police yesterday
It came as a new positive case was discovered in Mansfield in Victoria's High Country.
Of the new cases, 55 are linked to current outbreaks, and 10 are under investigation, while just 12 of the new cases were in isolation for their infectious periods.
Health Minister Martin Foley said the new case recorded this morning in Mansfield, in regional Victoria, would be included in tomorrow's health department update.
The numbers include 21 cases in the Shepparton area that were announced yesterday.
Mr Foley said, despite the rise in cases, he was confident the outbreak could be contained.
"We're still in the realm of hauling this back," he said.
