Victoria records 29 new local COVID-19 cases as
fourth Melbourne school hit by Delta outbreak.

Victoria has recorded 29 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19, none of which were in quarantine while infectious.

The new cases, which are all linked to previous cases in the outbreak, were detected from among 43,618 test results processed on Friday.

There are now four schools caught up in the state's latest Delta outbreak, after the Islamic College of Melbourne revealed an infected person attended its campus last month.

In a statement on Friday, the Tarneit school said the local public health unit "could not identify an exact time the case was infectious" and so all staff, visitors and students were considered close contacts.

As a result, the entire school community must get tested immediately and quarantine until further notice, even if they receive a negative test result, the college said.

"The College urges everyone to stay safe and follow the official guidelines and instructions," the statement said.

The college is the fourth school in the city's west to be affected by the outbreak, alongside Al-Taqwa College, Heathdale Christian College and Warringa Park School, which is a specialist school in Hoppers Crossing.

More to come.

My logic.

66% of all people have already had Covid-19?

I had a reaction to the AZ vax.
The info I got said that 2 out of every 3 people
have a reaction - a mild temperature etc.
My body must have recognised the Covid-19 proteins.
If that's the case then 66% of all people have already had it.
We already have herd immunity.

Victorian government officials are meeting this morning to discuss an extension to Melbourne's lockdown, with seven days among the options being canvassed.
Key points:

Victoria has recorded 20 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19
Five of the cases have not yet been linked to current outbreaks
The number of exposure sites has grown to 290, with bus and train routes among recent additions

Victoria has recorded 20 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases out of 41,571 test results processed on Tuesday.

Of the new cases, 15 are linked to current outbreaks and 14 have been in quarantine throughout their infectious periods.

The identification of unlinked cases and more community exposure to the virus has virtually sealed an extension to Melbourne's lockdown.

A senior government source has told the ABC that officials are meeting to discuss the extension and another seven days is on the table.

The state government is yet to officially confirm an extension of the capital city's lockdown, which is due to end at 8:00pm Thursday.

But Premier Daniel Andrews has stressed that the number of cases in the community while infectious would be a key factor.

Victorian officials already discussing
further lockdown extension

Victorian government officials are already discussing the prospect of extending the state’s lockdown even further following Wednesday’s seven-day extension, with health authorities concerned by mystery cases.

A further extension means residents would have endured over 200 days under some of the toughest measures seen anywhere in the world.

The state’s Chief Health Officer, Brett Sutton, said there was no magic number in terms of how far he wants to see community cases driven down before restrictions are lifted.

“We need as many people [as possible] to be isolating from right now, but that requires people to be known to us, and that means testing with symptoms,” he said.

“That means to the fullest extent that we can, following those restrictions.”

The number of mystery cases in Melbourne's outbreak has surged to eight, after four more unlinked infections were recorded on Thursday.
Key points:

The state has recorded 15 new local cases, but four are not yet linked to current outbreaks
Authorities are still trying to understand how four mystery cases across Glenroy and Brunswick West were infected
The number of exposure sites now exceeds 400, with South Melbourne Market among the latest additions

The state recorded 15 new local COVID-19 cases, eight of whom were in quarantine during their infectious period.

But only 11 of the latest cases have been linked back to current outbreaks, with the source of the remaining four under investigation.

Contact tracers were already grappling with four mystery cases spread across Glenroy and Brunswick West.

There were 40,737 test results processed on Thursday and 27,427 vaccine doses were administered at state-run sites.

South Melbourne Market and a St Kilda Chinese restaurant are among more than 400 places listed as exposure sites in Victoria, after a positive case visited the popular market on Saturday.

The South Melbourne Market reopened to customers at 10:00am after it was closed for a deep clean.

Victoria records 21 new local COVID-19 cases,
10 in the community while infectious

Victorian authorities say they are "very concerned" about the spread of COVID-19 across multiple Melbourne suburbs, driven by cases where a source of the infection is still not known.
Key points:

Ten of the 21 new local cases were in the community for at least part of their infectious period
As a result, the number of exposure sites has grown to more than 450 venues across dozens of suburbs
Authorities say testing numbers are not high enough to make sure all undetected cases are being picked up

The state recorded 21 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 on Friday, all located in Melbourne.

The Department of Health said 11 people were in quarantine for the duration of their infectious periods, with the remaining 10 out in the community for at least part of their infectious periods.

All 21 of the new infections are linked to known cases, a positive sign after the recent number of mystery cases.

Victoria has recorded 25 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 as the virus spreads into more parts of Melbourne.

Of the new infections, 21 are linked to known cases and four are under investigation.

The Department of Health said 12 people were in quarantine for their entire infectious periods. The remaining 13 were in the community while infectious.

The positive results came from 32,286 tests processed on Saturday.

Yesterday, Health Minister Martin Foley said authorities wanted to see testing rates at 40,000 or more per day.

There are concerns the virus is spreading undetected in the community, with the source of infection for several unlinked cases still unknown.

That includes the first two cases in this current outbreak, and at least six other mystery infections spread across a range of Melbourne suburbs.

At what point will lockdowns end? At this rate, we will be long gone before Melbourne puts this disease behind them. How many lives are being ruined over these lockdowns? How many young people have lost their chance to go to university and pursue rewarding careers? How many private businesses have gone under because the government doesn't deem them to be essential? How many elderly are dying alone because their family is not allowed to visit them? This is obscene. Some fates are worse than death. Especially since vaccines are now available, the disease is not particularly dangerous to anyone that doesn't have other major health problems. Is the government waiting for a cure? It will never come because there is too much money to be made with ever changing vaccination strategies and too much power to be wielded by government who use the plandemic to foster government dependence.

Only 25% of people are fully vaccinated.
They won't stop the lockdowns until that reaches 70%.
