entree of shrimp cocktail,
New York Steak - medium rare, asparagus with hollandaise sauce,
roast potatoes, with a side of caesar salad?

I thought that would hit the spot and I wouldn't forget cast iron steak sizzle plates -
the steak is served sizzling away.

Yes. However, cooking dinner is only a small part of it. They have to:
1. Decided what they are going to cook.
2. Go shopping to buy all the ingredients.
3. Prepare and Cook it.
4. Set table and serve it.
5. Clean up Kitchen, including stove, washing up etcetera.

Sharing the washing up etc is fine with me.

Avoid telling wife jokes.
Q: Why do you never need to buy your wife a watch?
A: There's a clock on the stove.

hey, hey, hey .................. sometimes it is an omelette for dinner. I cook pretty good omelettes.
I have cleaned an oven once, maybe twice in my life.
Our oven is SO bad now, I have ordered another one .
I am hearing you though.

Well, I have had males say "I'll cook dinner" and when I ask "what will you cook?", they tend to say "whatever you want" but have no idea themselves. Some think "cooking" is chopping stuff, throwing it into a pan, and stirring it (using a different spoon each time). Leaving the kitchen in a mess and then patting themselves on the back because they "cooked dinner". No thanks!

What about my idea above?
How about -

Surely that would win the heart of any girl?

Men of my father's generation couldn't/didn't cook except for BBQing but men nowadays tend to cook and cook well. Quite often better than women.
Both of my sons cook really imaginatively and well.
