NSW recorded 319 new locally acquired COVID-19 infections
in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.



It’s the first time the state has ever had more than 300 cases in a day.

There have been five more COVID-19 deaths in NSW.

It takes the state’s total fatalities since the start of the pandemic to 84.

NSW recorded 262 new locally acquired COVID-19 infections and one death in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.

A woman in her 80s, who had been a resident at the Wyoming Residential Aged Care Facility in Summer Hill in Sydney's inner west, died at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

The death was the 28th during the Delta outbreak which began in June.

Of the new cases, 86 were in isolation throughout their infectious period, 26 were in isolation for part of their infectious period, and 46 were infectious in the community.

The isolation status of 104 cases remained under investigation.

NSW recorded 283 new locally acquired COVID-19 infections in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.

At least 64 were infectious while in the community.

A record 133,000 tests were taken in the reporting period.

A woman in her 90s who was in palliative care has died after testing positive to COVID-19.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the woman had not been vaccinated.

If a woman in her 90s is in palliative care it would be irresponsible and very wrong to give her the jab so there is no reason to even mention that. It's just fear mongering.
