Australia's chief medical officer Paul Kelly has declared the nation, and in particular NSW, are now fighting "a pandemic of the unvaccinated".
The terminology has been used in recent weeks by experts in the US as well as President Joe Biden, as America once again fights rising case numbers because of the Delta strain.
As NSW recorded its worst day yet of the pandemic so far
and lockdowns continue in Queensland and Victoria, Professor Kelly urged Australians to come forward and get the jab.
“We know that vaccines work to decrease severe illness. It decreases transmission. It decreases death and it is clearly the way forward as we’ve talked [about] a lot this week, after the modelling from the Doherty [Institute],” the CMO told reporters after this afternoon’s National Cabinet meeting.
“So the clear message today is get vaccinated…Vaccination is the way out and we know where we’re going with that and particularly, this is the hotspot areas, please make an appointment and talk to your GP about your vaccination options right now.”

I got a slight temp of 37.7 C
12 hours after the AZ jab and
the next day I had a mild headache and I was very tired.
It was all fixed with 2 panadols and an afternoon in bed.
Those symptoms were all considered normal for 2 out of 3 people
according to the 4 pages of info I was given and told about by the nurse.

Nationally, the vaccination rollout has ramped up to more than 1 million doses a week,
based on the seven-day moving average.
At our current pace of 1,282,106 doses a week, we can expect to reach the 40 million doses needed to fully vaccinate Australia’s adult population in late December 2021.
The program has picked up pace since local outbreaks in multiple states plunged millions into lockdown. It took 6 days to increase total doses from 11 million to 12 million, compared with 45 days to deliver the first one million doses, 20 days to reach 2 million total doses and 17 days to reach 3 million total doses.
So far, 13,270,296 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered across the country.

Re: NSW cases out of control.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said she was expecting
case numbers to increase in the coming days.
Will it be over 300 cases today?
Also:
Israel is already starting 3rd vaccinations as boosters
because 2 shots are not working well enough.
I bet we will need 2 boosters per year from now on as the virus
keeps on mutating.

Re: NSW cases out of control.
I had on AZ vax on the 2nd of July.
I'll get the 2nd at the end of September.
I expect a Pfizer booster in March 2022 which will
modified to counteract the Delta strain.
By then we'll probably have another strain.
That will mean another vax in say August 2022.
It never ends and neither will the lockdowns.
