BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA Geez, are you a moron or what?
The BER, the HIP, the cash splashes covered ALL of Australia! It was a temporary fix to a temporary problem, the GFC. The BER, in case you don’t know, covered all schools, everywhere!

When you have no response to all the issues all you from the loonie left comrade just bury your head in the sand and say this is not happening instead of facing up to the facts and real issues facing the economy and responding with trying to rein in stupid govrnment spending and the forthcoming rampant inflation which saw keating kicked out.Jovial Monk wrote:BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA Geez, are you a moron or what?

If I was a school principal I would be considering what buildings the school could do with then engaging engineers, architects etc and get shovel-ready plans drawn up.
Heard someone on ABC local radio whinge at “all the stuff that went into the buildings.” Now isn’t 20 years ago, network cabling, computer workstations, smart whiteboards etc are all part of teaching nowadays. also, school buildings are built to a much higher standard than residential and commercial buildings are.
But with a Long Depression in the offing bound to be a second BER.

Let's hope not. Australia can't afford another Liebor fuckupBut with a Long Depression in the offing bound to be a second BER.
Re: Successful stimulus
If you have kids at school I would be asking if they were ready to benefit from a second BER.

Re: Successful stimulus
If you're a builder with Liebor mates you can start to plan for your new boat with the "management fee structure" you will add onto each undersize canteen and cheap preassembled transportable unit worth $250K that you will sell for $750K

The HIP caused four deaths and 197 fires. Very bad!
Ummmm, with 1.2m houses retrofitted with insulation that d result is much, much better than what happened in the ten years before the HIP:
Deaths of installers was half what it used to be and all 3 electrocutiopn deaths occurred in Qld—the Qld gvt deserves because beginning with Joh inspections of new electrical installations is a joke. Labor and Nat govts just as culpable.
All the standards and regulations Garret put in have made retrofitting insulation much safer.

http://blogs.crikey.com.au/pollytics/20 ... ata-is-in/efore the program, the industry experienced around 1 fire per every 765 odd installations – or 1.3 fires per every 1000 installs.
Under the insulation program, even though the number of total fires increased by 2.3 times, the number of installations increased by 18.7 times compared to what happened before the program. As a result, under the program the industry experienced 1 fire per every 6158 off installs – or 0.16 fires per 1000 installs.
That makes the insulation program around 8 times safer in terms of fire incidents compared to the state of the industry before the program. Even if we take the best absolute possible estimates of what went on before the program – say, 80 fires per year off 75 thousand installs – the program is still 7 times safer in terms of fire incidents than what occurred before the program.
