NSW recorded 199 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian revealed she wants to see
6 million jabs administered in NSW by the end of August.

About 3.9 million doses have been put in arms in the state so far.

Greater Sydney's lockdown is due to end on August 29, at this stage.

"Six million jabs is roughly half the population with at least one or two doses," she said.

"That gives us additional options as to what life looks like on 29 August."

A man in his 20s died "suddenly" from COVID-19 at his Sydney home as NSW recorded 233 new infections and Premier Gladys Berejiklian warned the Delta outbreak would get worse.
Key points:

The Premier says not all Year 12 students will return to school as planned on August 16
Only 92 of the new cases were in isolation for their entire infectious period
More than 105,000 tests were completed in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday

The man had no underlying health conditions and died at his home in Sydney's south west yesterday, which was day 13 of his home isolation.

He was being checked daily by staff from the South-Western Sydney Local Health District but chief health officer Kerry Chant said he "suddenly deteriorated".

"He did complain of feeling a little fatigued but the deterioration happened suddenly is my understanding," Dr Chant said.

“We are aware that with COVID you can get sudden deaths and I think that is important to understand that your health status can deteriorate and you can have sudden death with COVID.”

Why was this case referred to the Coroner....a specific direction
was issued to doctors that covid deaths were not to be reported
under the Coroners Act...
notably...no other direction has ever been issued for any other
natural cause of death...
Maybe he necked himself...

Why pray tell was this covid death reported to the Coroner
when there has been a specific instruction to all doctors that
covid deaths are not to be reported under the Coroners Act.
I surmised that he may have necked himself....
Perhaps not....it was reported as a covid death...
If you are priding yourself on "reporting" the facts
perhaps you can elaborate on why this case was
referred to the Coroner grasshopper....
