Now I see why you and you govt lost every war they have been in since WW2 and now they are in more debt per capita than any democratic country in the west even Zimbabwe so why should we care.

What an ignorant thing for you to say, since you know nothing about me whatsoever.

No it's not. I put up a legitimate thread that is well supported with references to explore and discuss the threating demise of the USA and the most you can claim is.... "A tin foil hat blog, what fun!" and then when I challenge you on it you advise that you lack the time... yet you don't lack the time to post in this thread on nothing that contributes to the topic.

That madam is ignorance personified.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Because Annie is seeking to discredit me and this thread, I wish to advise that the information provided in the opening post was taken from an esteemed web site well known to the US govt, those in the finance industry, and clients. Those who founded Zerohedge run a large financial corporations dealing is brokerage. They are well known for challenging Bernake and receiving communications from him explaining, in a PC non committal way issues Zerohedge present, which they subsequently post on their web site.

It is the case that a civilization has a life span of about 500 years give or take a few decades. History knows this well. It is also true that our Western Civilization is about 500 years old... so we are at the threshold. It is also true, whether we like it or not, that Western Civilization is led by the USA, and sadly, the USA is in a hell of a mess.

The purpose of this thread is to explore the ramifications of a declining civilization, the possibility of repairing our civilization and defying history and how we might achieve that repair or how we might decline less rapidly than our past examples have.

Annie,

If you have nothing constructive to say in this thread other than fake indignation and provocation... FUCK OFF. I have no interest in the bullshit petty shitfulness that you and your ilk like to indulge.

But you are so arrogant!

Well it happens to be the middle of the night here, last night your time. Let me just say this for now. The items on their list are indeed genuine concerns for the USA, but the website's approach to the topics has a bias, which is mainly to point out how fucked up we are.

Did it occur to you that many of us already know how much trouble we are in here? Many of us don't like what we are seeing here, or what has been happening to our country.

Of course your topic is legitimate, but I got a negative impression of the sourse you posted, I don't take that website seriously in general.

Why should we care?

Well, because we are following the US template on so many things, only we're about 20 years behind.

And because they are still the biggest market in the globe. Without their runaway consumerism, we will have to tighten our own belts considerably.

Now this is a valid comment, and I agree.

It gets worse Boxy... did you know for example that the USA represent less than 5% of the worlds population yet has nearly 1/4 of the worlds prison population in their gaols... and this is a nation that claims Christian values. You have to wonder at the political mindset that would allow such a thing.
