George Floyd statue weighing 700 pounds unveiled in New Jersey

NEWARK, N.J. (WPIX) – New Jersey’s most populous city paid tribute to George Floyd on Wednesday, unveiling a 700-pound bronze statue in his honor outside Newark’s City Hall.

Mayor Ras Baraka, along with other dignitaries, were on hand for a ceremony where the artwork was presented.

“Hopefully it inspires those who walk by to be more active, take part in activism,” Baraka said.

Also, President Biden and his VP met with the Floyd family on May 25th, the one year anniversary of his death. In June of 2020, Nancy Pelosi gave the Floyd family a folded American Flag that had flown over the Capitol on the day he died - as a fallen hero. Think about that one.

You seem oblivious to the fact that he was murdered by a Cop. Yes?

I will try to not confuse you with facts but he died of an overdose! He was already on fentanyl and hid the rest by taking it too. The idea was to hide the evidence, be released after questioning and find a place to throw it back up before it killed him. Unfortunately for him he was not going to be released and he went into full blown, violent panic mode and had to be restrained. While video made it look bad no one murdered him, he killed himself by swallowing the drugs. If the Prosecution had given his passenger/drug dealer immunity from prosecution the truth would have been presented to the jury.

He should be but he was sacrificed on the alter of political correctness! The Jury was to only convict him on whichever charge they felt he was guilty of, not all three. Legally he couldn't be guilty of all three choices since he either intended to kill Floyd or accidently killed Floyd. Or he was actually guilty of none of them but riots and people would have died if he received justice. It was determined that an innocent man be convicted so that any number of innocent people would not die at the hands of the Mob!
