No they're not. The problem with NSW is that Pinocchio thought she could avoid a lock down which allowed it to spread throughout the community. Qld on the other hand went into hard lock down immediately, and after 3 days all contacts were isolated and the state reopened. Businesses coped a short hit to the pocket, but it's better than the several weeks long hit NSW is copping with no sign of ending in sight

Pfizer has flatly denied any suggestion former prime minister Kevin Rudd was responsible for Australia securing earlier access to its vaccines.

The government announced last week that Pfizer had agreed to bring forward the delivery of doses that were scheduled to arrive later this year.

A letter obtained by the ABC revealed Mr Rudd wrote to Prime Minister Scott Morrison to inform him that he had talked with the global head of Pfizer and personally lobbied him to accelerate the deliveries.

Pfizer has released a statement saying all negotiations have been conducted exclusively with the federal government.

"Recent media reports suggesting that any third party or individual has had any role in contractual agreements reached between Pfizer and the Australian government are inaccurate," a Pfizer spokesperson said.

"The only two parties involved in these agreements are Pfizer and the Australian government. "

Does anybody in government realize how absolutely ridiculous this sounds....
"Adults under the age of 60 who cannot access the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine should be able to receive the AstraZeneca jab instead if they are in a Delta variant outbreak zone, health authorities say."
This means that if for example you live in Buff Point on the NSW Central Coast,you are in the area which has been locked down....get the AZ jab...
If you live in say Elizabeth Bay, just a kilometre or two north of Buff Point,
the advice is different....get the Pfizer jab....
Therefore, they are trying to tell us that the "expert medical advice" now depends
on where you live...
Your postcode now governs the advice on what jab you should get...
And the interval between jabs has changed again...
Originally it was 12 weeks...then it was 8..then it was 6..now its between
4 and 8...
Therefore people who have received their first AZ jab four weeks ago and who live
in the appropriate postcode, should now arrange to get the second jab as soon as
possible...
BUT if you live just up the street....well...you can wait 6 ..or 8...
No wait...was that 12...no wait....
What a fkn mess...
No wonder the polls are suggesting Scumo is on the nose....

It seems blatantly obvious that advice from ATAGI depends entirely
on the availability of supply of AZ and Pfizer.
Advice has been issued as to the gaps between doses...
They appear to have thrown the book out the window when it
comes to actual "expert medical advice..."
It all seems to depend now on what doses of what jab are actually available...
Otherwise why would ATAGI base their advice to the public
with reference to "getting over the next two months"
After two months we have been promised more Pfizer...
Will the advice change again in two months when/if the Pfizer supply
arrives...

Well no..."expert scientific/medical advice" should be based on the data
available as to the appropriate time after the first dose that the
second dose is more effective....
It shouldnt be advice based on..."oh well...we will have to wait
and see how much AZ we've got...how much Pfizer we've got and when
and if we are going to get more AZ and more Pfizer...then we
will work out how long the public have to wait between jabs..."
