Microsoft wants you to calm down about Windows 11 (in a twisted, wonderful way)
Redmond can feel the excitement of Windows users.
It wants them to relax by reminding them of how great Windows has always been.

Windows 11 is allegedly to be unveiled on June 24 and, frankly, that's just too many days, isn't it? So Microsoft has decided to speak directly to you and offer you a calming tincture. More precisely, a calming timbre. Even more precisely, several.

Redmond has just released an 11-minute aural homage to Windows gone by.

This is how Microsoft explains itself: "Having trouble relaxing because you're too excited for the June 24th Microsoft Event? Take a slow trip down memory lane with the Windows 95, XP, and 7 startup sound."

Bobby's opinion -

At my last job - they upgraded to Win10.
Next thing - half the printers and other devices wouldn't work.
Even so called Win10 patches for firmware/software upgrades
for those devices didn't work.
We had to buy mega bucks worth of new devices.

It was all a con to sell more printers etc.

I am still happy with Win7 at home on my desktop.

One day we'll find out that Microsoft caused 100 million tonnes of
electronic waste by deliberately colluding with printer
manufacturers to make sure the
older printers etc wouldn't work anymore.
It's actually quite evil.
It's a form of robbery by the big multi-nationals.

Also - I found that the new printers you buy are full of cheap
plastic parts that will break within 3 years.
The older printers never died and had heaps of strong metal parts.

OK, so you think it is Microsoft's fault that printer manufacturers don't provide updated drivers for their old printers for the latest operating system.

That is BS.

It is the printer manufactures that have no interest in supporting old printers in new OS.

I phoned up a printer manufacturer -
they blamed Microsoft -
Microsoft blames them.

The user only knows one thing -
they upgraded to Win10 and their printer never worked again.

Do printer manufacturers make money selling new printers by abandoning really old printers? (Twitter is a great platform for shaming suppliers. I have used it as a last resort and it always delivered satisfaction to me, e.g:

.@maker I have thirteen of your inkjet/laser printers. You told me that you would have W10 drivers ready but you still have not released any. I think your service absolutely sucks. Looking to XYZ for replacement printers starting next year when your printers reach their economic life.
