My split system is a Daikin. I contacted the local approved service provider and a bloke came out and measured the area and waved a thing around to make sure I was getting the right size, wattage or whatever. It cost me $2,500 and I have had it for about 12 years. Here is the write up:

I think my parents have a Daikin in the room my dad added on to his house.

My friend who has an AC business told me that Mitsubishi builds their motors in a clean room and he has never seen one of their motors fail. That's what he uses.

Toshiba/Mitsubishi(TMEIC) makes the best Uninterruptible Power Supply on the market. Their industrial electronics are top notch. I'm a factory trained service representative for Mitsubishi and Toshiba, but I work for a 3rd party contractor and service all brands.

What do you think of MHI?
I had a large unit -
it drew 10 amps at 240 Volts AC to run it.
It could cool an entire 3 bedroom house with
a large living room and kitchen and dining room
when it was 38 degrees C outside in the shade. 100 F.

Mitsubishi makes very dependable equipment. Its hard to judge your system without knowing the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio and the exact size of your home and the R value of your insulation. I haven't measured the current draw on my AC unit, but it cools my 4 br home ok. My system is a 13 SEER system. Newer minisplit systems have up to a 21 SEER rating. A new system could be 21/13 times as efficient as my current system, making my energy usage be 13/21 as much as I'm currently using. My current system is ducted throughout the house and not easily compatible to replacement with a minisplit type system. That's why I want to design and build my own home.

I sold that house and I can't remember what type it was now.
It had high efficiency.
It could be 38 C outside and 20 C inside -
it was great during the Australian heatwaves.
A large aircon really turns a house into a home.
