Heh, in the Hunger Winter (1944/45) in Holland cats disappeared. Mum said cat was sweeter than rabbit—and claimed that she was told that! Dunno, she even ate tulip bulbs (burned the throat she said) so why not cat? Unfortunately her dementia means I cannot ask anymore. Trees got chopped down too, usually after curfew—winters were harsh back then!

I have eaten cat, dog, frog and I think mouse.

Meat is meat, cooked right its all quite OK.
