Sky News host Cory Bernardi says "it's about time" the defence portfolio had a leader with the right "mettle" for the job with the appointment of Peter Dutton at the helm - a leader who won't put up with bureaucrats and stand up to China's bullying.
"It's about time we had a defence minister with the mettle for the job. After a series of hopeless people filling the role, we finally have someone fit for purpose. Cometh the hour, cometh the man and the man is Peter Dutton," he said.

Defence Minister Peter Dutton will officially overrule a decision to strip soldiers who served in Afghanistan of their medals.
Three thousand special forces soldiers were set to be have their citations removed as “collective punishment” for alleged crimes uncovered by the Brereton Inquiry.
The original recommendation faced widespread scrutiny attracting over 50,000 signatures to overturn the decision.
The ruling will mean only individuals who are dismissed for failing to uphold standards or are found guilty of a war crime will be disciplined.

Australia needs a strong leader who isn't afraid of the woke minorities and who will stand up to China. ScoMo doesn't fit that bill.
