I just got an update but do not understand it.
......... New Zealand is now exempt from the ban on overseas travel from Australia.
We advise you to 'exercise a high degree of caution' (level 2 of 4) when travelling to and around New Zealand. While the COVID-19 risk to you may be considered low, outbreaks can occur and authorities could implement measures at short notice, which may impact your ability to move freely.
Be prepared for the possibility of an extended stay or disruption to your travel.
New Zealand entry restrictions still apply. ...........

Can we fly there as before?
Do we have to quarantine on the way over?
What about on the way back?
Can we fly to cities other than Auckland?
Does this mean we no longer have to apply to the NZ govt to enter NZ ?

NZ is no problem to travel to -
it's just if there is a Covid outbreak you could be trapped
with only a few minutes notice.

I applied to the Aust govt to permit me to fly to NZ about 5 weeks ago.
They said no.
There is still 2 weeks quarantine for anyone who arrives in NZ
