What is going on in Ostraya.
Palaszczuk closes the Qld/NSW border at the drop of a hat, causing mass loss of jobs and turnover
in the tourism sector and then puts out her hand asking for SloMo to bail her out.
Tehan goes on a junket to Qld and almost immediately a boost to the tourism industry is flagged.
Is our economy so dependent on the plebs jumping on a ride at Dreamworld or watching the
whales up at Cairns...or buying a latte or a hotdog at the shop on the corner...
Where do they draw the line in the sand when it comes to assisting tourism.
Will the coffee shops on the corner that depend on tourism get a financial boost.
What about the cabbies that transport travellers to and from airports.
What about the numerous businesses in northern Qld and the Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast
which rely on tourism to survive.
AND finally, what about the plumbers, sparkies, chippies etc that ACTUALLY go to these
tourist atractions with their families.
WILL they all be given a financial boost when JobKeeper runs out...
OR will it just be Travel Agents....
Without travellers from all over Australia, tourism is dead and buried.
After all...arent they the backbone of the tourist industry....
ITS a bit like horseracing...without owners and punters...theres no horse racing....
I suppose it all boils down to politics doesnt it....
SloMo will give the tourism industry a boost and tell the Premiers that part of the deal is
to keep their borders open....
AND the media shills will all bow down to the Messiah and his wonderful apostles...
If nothing else...its quite entertaining.....
