Sorry to hear about your dads Bobby and Sprint. Best of wishes to you both.
Tex, I hope you recover quickly too but didn't you just have surgery not so long ago?

Men do not listen compassionately, so they do not ........ hear other peoples real comments.
Yes.
Just occurred to me, all the guys here are good men. Supportive, honest, accepting.
Most of the guys on another site I do not even read their posts.
Does it get to be a 'group culture'?

Bobby. Sprint - I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Some things are worse than death. I cant imagine being kept from a dying parent. My FIL passed about a year before covid and I would feel like I abandoned him if he were isolated in a nursing home. A friend of mine couldn't see his mom for 7 months last year and now Alzheimers has taken all ability to communicate, even though he can now see her.
We are doing everything possible to keep my 89 year old MIL from going to a nursing home. As long as she can be comfortable and happy, we will keep her between our home and my SIL. Dimensia has her asking the same questions all the time but she enjoys being around family. My parents are in their mid 70s and still fairly healthy and independent. I see them every week or 2 now that I have antibodies and call them every other day. Before I had covid, I would visit with them on their front lawn from a distance.
I never realized how much I would miss hugging Mom. I am still careful to not bring them germs in my clothing or go there when I could be sick. I'd hate to be responsible for their demise.
My surgery was a simple hernia repair. I will be back to work next week and be off restrictions in 6-8 weeks. My gallbladder surgery last year weakened my stomach muscles at a point of incision and I developed a hernia while installing 45kg batteries by hand at work. I'll be fine as long as I allow myself to heal. Thank you for your concern.

Thanks everyone for your support.
There is nothing I can do to help my father.
He is very old so I suppose he's had a good innings.
