Thought I had posted this before... may have been another topic
Anyway I get nervous as hell climbing a 3 foot ladder to change a light bulb, but I am 75.

You just need to ensure you dont hang onto the chainsaw throw it away from you as you are going down and you will not encounter it on the ground

No point in going around being afraid of a fall , I took a dive last week on a slippery slope , caught my foot on a root as I was trying to get my balance, it was a three foot drop to the ground add my height to that and it was a good impact , tuck your arms in and spread the impact over the length of your body to increase the surface area will give you the best result

Re: Day/Night Owls Chit Chat
I frequently use an 8-10 foot step ladder to take care of wet cell batteries, but its always on a smooth and level surface and I'm only 53. I don't like getting onto the steep roof on my house.
My scariest experience was being hoisted from a cargo ship to an off shore sulphur mining platform by crane while clinging to the outside of a cone shaped cargo net. We almost clipped the ship's mast or antenna on the way up. The lowest level of the platform was about 35 meters up. The helicopter ride between platforms was pretty sketchy as well. The helipad was at least 50 meters above the ocean and not much bigger than the helicopter. Getting out and going down the stairs with no hand rails was uncomfortable.

Sprint, Ive seen a lot of supposed pro's do a lot of really stupid things, I work on a system of calculated risk. and I also think about exit strategies if things go south on me,sprintcyclist wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 10:32 pmNot doing stupid stuff gives the best result.BigP wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 6:13 pm

Pros have the proper tools and a little more experience, usually. It always boils down to common sense.BigP wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 7:07 amSprint, Ive seen a lot of supposed pro's do a lot of really stupid things, I work on a system of calculated risk. and I also think about exit strategies if things go south on me,sprintcyclist wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 10:32 pmNot doing stupid stuff gives the best result.BigP wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 6:13 pm
