Re: Congratulations Julia Gillard.
She has never been known as a moderate. Time will tell, but it is not something she will have a lot of unless Australia want to vote for the continuation of mismanagement and waste. You have to remember that as far as it looks, nothing has really changed except for one faceWe don't know that yet. She has spoken of negotiations. She has begun with an act of good will by removing the mining ads and requesting they act in kind, and they have.
Re: Congratulations Julia Gillard.
No... there is one important change already and that is her public acknowledgement of the need for team work as apposed to Krudds Kitchen Cabinet approach. It's not just the voters hearing that kind of talk... it's her party too. She will have to put her money where her mouth is now if she is to sustain the support she has gained.

She will be a pawn of the factional warlords that put her there. It's one of the reasons why Kev kept a kitchen cabinet
Re: Congratulations Julia Gillard.
I disagree. She is too strong of mind and will for that. And even though she is a factional player, it would be unreasonable to claim that sensible compromise, which I expect, is merely pawn like behavior, as I'll expect you to suggest.IQSRLOW wrote:She will be a pawn of the factional warlords that put her there. Re: Congratulations Julia Gillard.
Obama praised Rudd as a "great friend to America" after congratulating Gillard. Obama and Rudd are said to have bonded - is a rare thing for the president to bond with any other leader. Puzzling what those two have in common.

They probably don't have anything in common, Atlanta. American presidents play up the positive side of things in their relations with other world leaders. Not that there's anything wrong with that ..
