I'm actually pleasantly surprised that you even like cats. Even more pleasantly surprised you'd like to name him after me.

Meanwhile, Blacky got stuck under the house AGAIN! We don't know how it's doing it! Silly Blacky....
Oh, and I am a cat person... Always have been.

I'm more of a dog person but have had cats too. When my daughter was little she "found" a kitten and promised to feed it, etc but it ended up Mum (me) doing all that. In fact we have had 2 dogs and 4 cats over the years - not at the same time though. Presently I don't have a pet, I just talk to the guys on TV.
Nom, Blacky probably belongs to somebody and is lost. Is there a site around there that lists lost pets? We have that sort of thing in Canberra but there might be one in your area of Melbourne too. Check your phone for "lost pets in ....."
A neighbour was looking after her Mother's cat while she was away overseas and it escaped, never to be seen again. We think it wanted to go home and took off. Not sure whether it will ever turn up, but it has been known that pets do, eventually, get back home again, sometimes years later.

Well, in the end, we kept Blacky for 2 and a half days, because he was sooo beautiful in looks and nature.
No one that responded to FB that seemed legit.
All the old timers were cooing over him, reposting to there FB, and wishing us luck...
At day three, we took him to the vet.
Good news, Oscar [his real name] is now safe at home.
He was microchipped and the Vet rang to say all is well.
