Thats what happens when you use a quota system to select ministers based on race and gender, rather than the most competent person to do the jobBlack Orchid wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 1:48 pmI like the way that have to inform us that the new Foreign Minister is a Maori. Seriously, I never would have guessed.

That's what I hate the most. There are even dictates now that a certain number of people on a Board of Directors has to be from a minority.BigP wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 2:40 pmThats what happens when you use a quota system to select ministers based on race and gender, rather than the most competent person to do the jobBlack Orchid wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 1:48 pmI like the way that have to inform us that the new Foreign Minister is a Maori. Diversification recruitment is also alive and well in the Public Service.
Across the board, diversification simply serves to lower standards.
AND indeed, standards are deliberately lowered to allow diversification success...

You cant fault her too vigorously on her covid response, But having said that, they did have the advantage of being a small island nation with a compliant population , and they certainly got lucky , My concern is their ability to fire up the economy

Auckland's population is 1,606,564 and your Capital, Wellington's population is 415,000. Our Capital, Canberra's population is 457,000. We only had 103 with CoVid and they were mainly travellers from interstate or overseas before we started the "lockdown" stuff.

We dont have the issue of various states making their own rules , we have a central government that controls the whole country , It makes the application of controls a very simple exercise, and no issues regarding people crossing porous bordersNeferti~ wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 4:36 pmAuckland's population is 1,606,564 and your Capital, Wellington's population is 415,000.
