Checked with vet in Gin Gin about desexing ...advised less complicated (and cheaper) to let her have the pups first.
I've got an admittion to make; Roxy doesn't want to or like being a mother ... if she was human, she's one of those head cases who throws their baby in a dumpster.
1st pregnancy? .. Nothing arrived, so I thought "Phantom pregnancy".
2nd pregnancy, she took over my bed, hunted Max out. After about a week, one night I woke (about 10:30) to find a pup crying beside me and blood on the floor. Door was open so I went out and found her dumping pups around the camp site. Heard what sounded like a kitten, found a pup near the 1st dam, another in a post hole, and saw her dump one under a mango tree.
I gathered the pups up and put them with her in my bed.
She took off again and found her with 2 more pups in Gemma's birthing pit under a Hilux tray on the ground.
Put her and the 5 pups back in my bed. She took off again and I found her by torch light in another hole under the front of an old Hiace burying 2 pups. Gathered them up and put them with her. She had more pups in my bed, as I'd closed the door.
At about 1:30 I thought "I want some sleep" so I put her and 9 pups in a cab on the back of a Rodeo.
At about 3am I woke to her howling. I went out and found she's killed 4 pups - 2 of completely eaten, skin 'n all.

Vet said it's (her behaviour) is either nutritional or mental. My dogs are well fed, so she's a looney.
People have asked "what do you think is wrong with her?" .. My answer is "Inbreeding".
The bloke who gave her to me is/was into 'line breeding' ... AFAIC putting a dog over its daughter is inbreeding.

3rd litter, 12 pups, I bottle fed them and forced her to fed them every 2nd day. 7 lived, Lexi is one of them.

4th litter, morning of 18th of May 2020. She doesn't try to kill them anymore and feeds them grudgingly because she knows I want her to. 8 pups, 2 died ... it's always the big males that die on me. Some of these pups are quite pretty.

Max on the other hand is a brilliant father. He cleans them for me and is very protective. He doesn't like Roxy being near them because he knows she's killed pups before.

I've got an admittion to make;

Pardon my sleep deprived brain fog ... bottle feeding pups means getting up in the night roughly every 3 hours.

Yeah, I never suspected she'd be like that ... she very soft .. a bit timid.
A good bitch will make her pups stand to reach the teats, it makes them stronger ... Gemma did it.

I worried Roxy would be too soft and keep laying down for them during weaning time, reducing the pups physical potential.
But no, she's a baby killer.

I've only ever known of Pit Bull and Bull Terrier bitches to eat their pups, and both breeds have a fair bit of inbreeding going on.

I've been trying to keep negative stuff unmentioned .. so first the good or nice news.

3 (2M & 1F) pups sold, all to seemingly nice families/people. 3 to go (2F & 1M) @ $150 each - vaxed & chipped.

Also my father came to stay for about a week, and had a transit van camper brought to my place - now next to the donga.

Now the negative, really just for my own record.

In Sept 2016 Vietnam vet on Prozac neighbour Rod Gear (who I've dubbed "Custard Guts") spent several weeks staying at my Vietnamese next door neighbours place and my Bull Arab/Wolf hound/Bull Mastif bitch (pig dog) Gemma was poisoned with 1080.
Gear has been staying at this property (next door) from the weekend til today, and stalking on my place every night.
Now I have 3 goats urinating blood. Rat poison.

He has form for this. In 1999 he had a dispute with another character about 1km away. Threatened to shoot him. Then poisoned all his animals - ponies, dogs, chooks, everything, and later burnt his house down.


A few years ago he had a fallout with another neighbour and threatened to kill him. They've got their property up for sale.
Half the street has moved out due to Gear's stalking. Half the street is up for sale or vacated or both. The rest of us have cameras.

Gear has been trying for 24 years to get me to leave, but I won't. I'll still be here when he & Co are all dead.
In 2012 Rocket (wolf hound X Dingo) disappeared. Next door neighbours framed neighbour out the back .. I trusted them.
On the 5th of August 2015 he threatened to shoot me. In 2016 I had several dogs poisoned or just vanish while I was out.
I have regular stalking binges by Gear, often for weeks at a time.
Now 3 goats are pissing blood.

This guy sells unregistered guns on the grey market. I bought several off him then he brought Ice junkies in to steal them back.
I even got busted with one (Ruger 10/22 with Gold Star silencer) but didn't narc him in.
He's had Comanchero MC members come to drive me off twice (1996 & 2014).
He's had me raided for non existent dope crops 3 times (2010 & twice in 2016)
He put me into the ATO for not lodging tax returns - $2000 fine (2016)

This character threatens to shoot people he's in dispute with, sells unregistered firearms (often stolen).
The cops know this but still let him have shooters licence despite being on psychiatric medication.

Qld police recently busted a registered gun dealer from Gympie for selling gun parts at gun shows in Western NSW without seeing the buyers shooters licences. He's in deep shit. But Qld police protect Rod Gear. Why?

Maybe I should adopt the title 'Puppy Farmer PTY LTD'

Lexi had 7 pups. The runt (fem, & the prettiest) rejected by Lexi, died on 3rd day, despite my bottle feeding salvage attempt.

EDIT ADDITION: All 6 look fat .. Lexi's doing a good job. Max is chained up in the way to make sure feral dogs or my puppy killer bitch Roxy can't get at them. 2 look Bull Mastiff, and 4 look Bull Arab. Neither parent is supposed to have Bull Arab in them, but thinking back on face markings in some of Roxy's litters, and the blue flecks on the face and legs of a male in the last litter, I'm pretty sure it's coming out of Max ... despite Catahoolas having Blue Merle in the gean pool.
