Quick quizz

Post by billy the kid » Sat Sep 19, 2020 2:29 pm

We all know that JobSeeker rules change from 28th September, 2020.
My question is this:
If someone is on JobSeeker at the moment and has say thirteen grand in the bank, he is still
entitled to JobSeeker as the assets test was waived.
After 28th September, 2020, if someone loses his job and claims JobSeeker and has thirteen grand in the bank, will he have to
serve a waiting period of thirteen weeks....answer yes....
(This period increases from one week to a maximum of 13 weeks depending on your "kitty" between
zero and $12,500.)
What about the people on JobSeeker who have say thirteen grand behind them on 28.9.2020.
Do they suddenly lose JobSeeker until January, 2021....thirteen weeks.....
I have read that those on JobSeeker after 28/9 will have to apply for 8 jobs per month, but the
media seems to be non committal when it comes to the assets test.
Over to you SloMo...
The answers dont really effect me....Im just curious as to what SloMo is going to do..... :rofl :rofl :rofl

Unless you're lying in the gutter with an empty bottle of wine -
they won't help you.

I'm out of work and I haven't even bothered to go to Centerlink.

I can understand the tactic of withdrawing funds etc but the waiting period is a sliding scale.
Someone with say seven grand in their "official bank account" will still have to serve a waiting period of
four weeks if they apply after 28/9.
My question is what decision the government will make on 28/9.
Will people be kicked off if they applied before 28/9 or will they NOT
have to serve an enforced waiting period as the legislation under which they applied
on say 28/8 has now changed.
I would imagine if thousands of people applied for early release of their super and have
x dollars in their kitty, there would be a public backlash, if after taking advantage of a
government initiative to withdraw their super...there are now forced to serve a waiting
period......
