The latest addition is Binge (binge.com.au), a stand-alone streaming service from Foxtel, Australia’s established cable television provider. A behemoth encompassing exclusive live sports, drama bastions such as HBO, new release movies, and lifestyle programming, Foxtel’s appeal has been undercut by the likes of Netflix and Stan (which like this newspaper is owned by Nine). Broadly speaking, a $100 monthly Foxtel bill is increasingly looking questionable when a streaming service is available for $10.
