Victoria records 35 new coronavirus cases
and seven deaths with COVID-19.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-09-14/ ... y/12660284

Victoria has recorded 35 new coronavirus cases and seven further deaths overnight, taking the state's COVID-19 death toll to 729.

The overall number of deaths only increased by six, as one was removed due to duplication, Premier Daniel Andrews said today.

It's the second time the state has recorded a daily tally under 40 in three consecutive days — 37 new cases were recorded on Saturday and 41 were recorded yesterday.

All of the seven new deaths reported today were connected to aged care settings.

The people who died were one man in his 70s, one woman and one man in their 80s, and three men and one woman in their 90s.

The 14-day daily case average is 54.4 in metropolitan Melbourne and 3.9 in regional Victoria.

Zero COVID-19 deaths yesterday in Victoria,
with 42 new coronavirus cases recorded

Victoria has recorded 42 new coronavirus infections and no deaths overnight, as the 14-day case averages in regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne continue to fall.

It's the first day without a coronavirus death in more than two months. The last day with zero deaths recorded was July 13.

Metropolitan Melbourne's 14-day daily case average is now 52.9, down from 54.4 yesterday.

Regional Victoria's is now 3.6, down from 3.9 yesterday.
For the latest news on the COVID-19 pandemic read our coronavirus live blog.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) said there was a total of 82 cases with an unknown source in metropolitan Melbourne, and one in regional Victoria.

"The one case with unknown source in regional Victoria was from September 1, more than 14 days ago," DHHS said on Twitter.

More information about the latest cases is expected to be released by DHHS later today.
Victoria's road to recovery

In order for metropolitan Melbourne to progress to the next stage of the roadmap, scheduled for September 28, the 14-day daily average must drop to between 30 and 50.

But even if that caseload is reached early, Professor Brett Sutton said the September 28 date was set in stone.

"We need that time for the [policy] settings that we have, but I am very confident we will be in the 30-to-50 range for average daily cases," he said yesterday.

The trigger points for regional Victoria's next step are a 14-day average below five, and zero mystery cases over two weeks.

Premier Daniel Andrews has been hinting for days that regional Victoria was "on the cusp" of reaching the next step.

Vic has eight virus deaths, 42 new cases.

https://www.corowafreepress.com.au/nati ... -new-cases

Victoria's coronavirus respite has been brief, with eight deaths taking the state toll to 737 and the national figure to 824.

Tuesday was the first day Victoria had been fatality-free in its second wave since July 13.

But there was more good news, with Melbourne's crucial 14-day average of new cases dropping below 50.

It is now 49.6, with regional Victoria also falling again to 3.5.

The 14-day rolling average is a key statistic in the state government's roadmap out of coronavirus restrictions.

Victoria had 42 new cases on Wednesday, the same as Tuesday.

Regional Victoria's restrictions will ease at midnight, but Melbourne will stay in its stage-four lockdown.

Authorities are ramping up roadblocks, creating the so-called "ring of steel" around the city to ensure city residents do not try to take advantage of the eased regional measures.

Premier Daniel Andrews has warned motorists travelling out of the city to expect
longer wait times as police tighten checkpoints.

"I'm sorry to say it will mean that there will be significant queues, there will be travel issues," he told reporters on Tuesday.

Melbourne's lockdown rules remain unchanged and people cannot travel out of the city without specific reasons.

The next step for regional Victoria means pubs, cafes and restaurants will be able to serve people outside with strict density quotas, while outdoor gathering limits will be upped to 10.

Regional Victorians will also be able to leave their homes without restriction and all shops can reopen.

The premier said Melburnians should be inspired by the rolling back of restrictions, rather than disheartened.

"I'd encourage people not to see it that way and instead see this as proof positive," he said.

Melbourne will move to its next step of reopening on September 28 if the 14-day
case average keeps falling to between 30-50.

Twitter Suspends Account Of Chinese Scientist Who Published Paper Alleging Covid Was Created In Wuhan Lab
Whistleblower scientist censored after just two days on the platform.

Zero Hedge - September 15, 2020

https://www.infowars.com/twitter-suspen ... wuhan-lab/

On Sunday afternoon we asked how long before the twitter account of the “rogue” Chinese virologist, Dr. Li-Meng Yan, who yesterday “shocked” the world of establishment scientists and other China sycophants, by publishing a “smoking gun” scientific paper demonstrating that the Covid-19 virus was manmade, is “silenced.”

The suspension took place shortly after Dr Yan had accumulated roughly 60,000 followers in less than 48 hours. The snapshot below was taken earlier in the day precisely in anticipation of this suspension.

It was not immediately clear what justification Twitter had to suspend the scientist who, to the best of our knowledge, had just 4 tweets as of Tuesday morning none of which violated any stated Twitter policies, with the only relevant tweet being a link to her scientific paper co-written with three other Chinese scientists titled “Unusual Features of the SARS-CoV-2 Genome Suggesting Sophisticated Laboratory Modification Rather Than Natural Evolution and Delineation of Its Probable Synthetic Route” which laid out why the Wuhan Institute of Virology had created the covid-19 virus.

While we appreciate that Twitter may have experienced pressure from either China, or the established scientist community, to silence Dr Yan for proposing a theory that flies in the face of everything that has been accepted as undisputed gospel – after all Twitter did just that to us – we are confident that by suspending her account, Jack Dorsey has only added more fuel to the fire of speculations that the covid virus was indeed manmade (not to mention countless other tangential conspiracy theories).

If Yan was wrong, why not just let other scientists respond in the open to the all too valid arguments presented in Dr. Yan’s paper? Isn’t that what “science” is all about? Why just shut her up?

Because if we have already crossed the tipping point when anyone who proposes an “inconvenient” explanation for an established “truth” has to be immediately censored, then there is little that can be done to salvage the disintegration of a society that once held freedom of speech as paramount.

For those who missed it, here is our post breaking down Dr. Yan’s various allegations which twitter saw fit to immediately censor instead of allowing a healthy debate to emerge.

We hope Twitter will provide a very reasonable and sensible explanation for this unprecedented censorship.
