Prime Minister Scott Morrison must make it clear he will not support the “Victorian vandalism” ocurring at the moment says Sky News host Alan Jones.

Mr Jones said Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ roadmap for the state is “the worse public policy catastrophe in Australian history”.

“Many businesses won't be opening until as late as November and they are saying the costs could be up to $20 billion to the economy,” Mr Jones said.

“Andrews should be forced out of the job.

“And the Labor Party should do that and if they can't, they should explain why”.

Victoria has engaged in ‘serious breaches of human rights’: Liberal Senator

Liberal Senator Sarah Henderson has slammed the Victorian government’s “serious breach of human rights” and has called for intervention from the Human Rights Commission.

“As a Senator for Victoria it’s my assessment that this curfew is in breach, serious breach, of human rights,” Ms Henderson told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

She said among the numerous potential breaches relating to Victoria’s 8pm curfew, the right to freedom of movement is of particular note.

“The right to freedom of movement can be limited if it’s justifiable (but) there’s no rational objective of this curfew. There’s no health rationale, and there is no request by the police”.

Victorian Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton revealed on radio the police were not consulted before the implementation of a curfew in Melbourne, claiming it was the Chief Health Officer's idea.

His comments contradicted remarks made by Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton who denied being involved in the decision and Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews who claimed the curfew in Melbourne was designed to help Victorian police enforce lockdown rules.

Ms Henderson said the decision was “completely improper” and led her to make contact with the Human Rights Commission.

“This is tantamount to a police state,” she said.

“This is megalomania out of control.”

The Australian's Rachel Baxendale told Sky News host Peta Credlin being blocked by Catherine Andrews, the wife of Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, on Twitter was “all a bit mean girls”.

Ms Baxendale was blocked by the wife of Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews after she questioned the premier's decision to implement a curfew despite recent revelations
neither the state’s chief health officer nor Victoria police chief recommended the severe lockdown measure.

“I really do find it quite bizarre; it was like being back in year nine,” Ms Baxendale said.

Ms Baxendale also discussed the situation surrounding Melbourne’s current curfew.

“The premier today continually said he made his decision (to implement a curfew) on the basis of the advice of experts,” she said.

“But when he was pressed numerous times to say who these experts are who came up with the curfew, he refused to name anyone.

“Interestingly, we’ve had both the chief health officer and the Victoria Police chief both distance themselves and say they don’t necessarily disagree with this curfew but it wasn’t their idea.

“It’s all a bit bizarre for him to say he’s made it on the advice of experts, but not name a single expert.”

She said after the premier refused to provide clarity on who’s idea it was to implement the curfew, “you’re left wondering, do they actually know who’s in charge?”.

“And if they don’t that’s a huge problem," she said.

“But if they do and they won’t say who is, then evidently they’re covering something up and that’s also a great concern.”
