The leaders of the powerful National Rifle Association were accused Thursday of participating in a fraud scheme that contributed to $64 million in losses and financed lavish lifestyles featuring private jet travel to exclusive resorts, according to a lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who seeks to shut down the gun rights organization.

The civil action, which names longtime NRA chief Wayne LaPierre and three other executives, details an array of alleged wrongdoing that severely weakened the nearly 150-year-old organization.

“The NRA’s influence has been so powerful that the organization went unchecked for decades while top executives funneled millions into their own pockets,” James said. "The NRA is fraught with fraud and abuse, which is why today, we seek to dissolve the NRA, because no organization is above the law.”

A couple of issues here. 1/ Why were criminal complaints not made?

They have largely been responsible for frightening the political parties/leaders from gun reform after the mass shootings in USA!

Maybe it means nothing in your so called "Today's World", which is quite a few people, but doesn't include the part that America's 330+ million people occupy.

It's estimated that well over 100 Million Americans are gun owners........Estimated because there is no National Firearms Database/Registry to get a count from.........Why? Because a National Registry is illegal under American Law, & it doesn't stop there.......they don't know how many guns there are.....last estimate was very close to 400 Million Firearms & counting.......

Why is there only an estimate? Because more than 95% of all firearms in America are unregistered.
