Just saw the news from India.
Half the people they tested in a small town have
Covid-19 anti-bodies and hardly any even got sick.
If Daniel had just let it rip through the community
we'd be the same.
You can't stop it and Daniel has led us on a fools errand ruining
our economy and locking us down like prisoners.

Already today I have wasted a lot of time buying something
using click and collect and
guess what? - it doesn't work.
What a stuff up.
It's already cost me two trips there & back -
in the car and it will cost me another trip tomorrow
to buy a working one from somewhere else.

My frustration is only 1% of what most people are going through.
Anyone working has to get a signed travel permit to go to work.
Even people like Jim's mowing who have no contact
with their customers can't work under Dan's crazy laws.
We've had enough of Dan's crap.
The hospitals could not cope if the virus were allowed free reign.
That's true and people would die.
They could however provide oxygen bottles and masks for people at home
having difficulty breathing.
That would help many more survive.
Only half the people they intubate survive.

We're also never going to achieve herd immunity locked up either.
Obviously we need to be sensible though and utilise our own protections.
That's true - what's the bet we get herd immunity before we get a vaccine?
Spanish Flu died out without any vaccine.

It's no use destroying the economy and the livelihoods of millions
of people and turning the rest of their lives into misery -
people would be better off dead.
Just my opinion but I doubt we will get a vaccine. The common cold is a coronavirus and we've never had a vaccine for that.

There's new viruses coming out of China all the time. We'd do better to keep the Chinese in China.
That's true - we've had 100 years to come up with a cold vaccine
and it has never worked.
The virus mutates all the time -
it's smarter than any vaccine.

Easy for you to say -
you're not living under house arrest.
I can't even go and buy a new computer as the shop
is a bit more than 5km away.

I don't feel I would be better off dead. It hasn't really affected me too much really. I don't go out as often but I go out and do what I've always needed to do just the same.

The only real change is doctor's appointments by phone and I have no problem with that.

I doubt I would be too happy with Comrade Dan's lock down though.

Can't you get delivery Bobby?

Yes I can get delivery but Australia post is rough with articles.
They threw a parcel of one of friends into his front yard.
I'd rather pick it up as it's close by -
just a bit more than 5kms - maybe 8kms.
Hopefully my computer will last more than 5 weeks more
and I'll get a new one then.

It did -
The Spanish flu pandemic of 1918, the deadliest in history, infected an estimated 500 million people worldwide—about one-third of the planet's population—and killed an estimated 20 million to 50 million victims, including some 675,000 Americans.

and they didn't close down Melbourne or did they?

During the Spanish flu pandemic there were huge economic and logistical disruptions, just as we have now. It cant be avoided, merely muted somewhat. It may be lost to living history but not to recent..
