A Victorian grandmother has been left confused and angry after receiving three different test results for COVID-19 in a single week.
Merrill Butterworth, from Kyneton, went shopping and visited sick family while thinking she was negative, only to have her test results change again that same day.
After an inconclusive result last week, she was tested again and received a text saying she had tested negative, so she felt comfortable to go shopping.
Ms Butterworth visited Woolworths Kyneton, the Reject Shop and also visited her sister who has a compromised immune system. It was only after then she received a text message which made her heart lurch.
"We need to speak with you regarding your recent COVID19 test. One of our team will be calling you shortly."

Third try and she's positive

That's no good.
I wonder if it's even worth getting a test?

Nothing about it seems to be efficient especially in Vic. That's why I keep saying we need to protect ourselves and just get on with life.

I think it is a bit like "suck it and see" as nobody really knows how long it takes to get infected and if getting tested is a bit touch and go - who knows? Some people have had it twice. Assume everybody is carrying the virus and wear a mask, wash your hands and keep 2 metres away from everybody. I am annoyed that the care workers who attend Old Age Homes are going to work while "sick" and giving the virus to the most vulnerable folk in the community.

Some nursing homes didn't even use masks.
Watching the news is depressing.
And yes - we need to just get on with our lives as best we can.

723 new virus cases in Victoria....
The numbers keep on going up....
Anyone else out there beginning to doubt these numbers...
Alan Jones was saying that it takes up to 9 days in Victoria to receive the result of tests.
There was a stage that 1 test per 100 people was returning as positive...
How old are these statistics......
723 positives in one day...
That suggests on the above data that 70,000 tests were conducted in one day....
Is it possible that these numbers are being duplicated....
I read that 1.5 million tests have been done since January...
At say 30,000 tests per day it takes 50 days to reach 1.5 million....
I dont believe that the Victorian Health System has been able to cope with
the 1.5 million tests we are being told have been conducted....
I think the numbers are rubbery....
Who was it that said..."there is no truth...only perception...."

Face masks will be mandatory from midnight Sunday. How many hundreds will it spread to by then?
If you're going to take a stand ... take it. None of this we are going to do this or that sometime in the future. The whole thing is ridiculous imo.

We can only go on the numbers we're given.
Note: I don't believe they are doing anti-body blood tests at all which
means that we don't know how many people have had it but are now recovered.
It's now out of control and looks like our lockdown will be longer than 6 weeks.
We've already done 3 weeks and we were hoping the numbers would be close to zero by now.
Today's results are a huge disappointment so it's definitely out of control.
Now the question is - how far behind us is Sydney?
