Day/Night Owls Chit Chat
lucky bobby I dont have a veggie patch now or a lawn....
but I do seem to have corned weeds.....I have a small patch out the very front...which I tend to turn a blind eye too however couple years ago next door did a renovation which included putting on the gas which meant the whole front was dug up to lay the pipes....I was ok with it as it all looked pristeen for a while... but the weeds ever since have been atrocious.....huge buggers...no matter how many times your poison or pull them out they are back....so if we have any volunteers????? I can make you a nice cupper maybe some cup cakes...

I tried poring boiling water and salt on couch grass growing in driveway cracks
and it still grew back.
It's indestructible.

It was cold enough in the factory I work in to freeze hell over today and the heater ran out of diesel , The owner said he was going down to the gas station to refill, 3 hours later still no fuel, I went into the office and they had a fan heater going, nice and toasty in there, I turned it off opened the door to the office and told him if he turned it back on before he refilled the heater in the workshop I would come in and cut the fucken plug off it ,
It had the desired effect, lol

Boiling water is good for weeds. Couch is a curse and has rhizomes above and below ground and you have to be persistent.Bobby wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 4:53 pmBlack Orchid wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 4:48 pmTip boiling water on the weeds, Cods, then boil it again for a job well done and a cuppa.

It's indestructible.
I gave the area several doses of boiling water followed by
a liberal dose of salt about 3 mm thick.
I didn't think that anything could survive that.
It did survive and thrive.
You'd think the salt would burn any new shoots.
