What we all need down here is for the US to continue to provide its presence in the South China Sea without criticism. It is, after all, international waters and does not belong to China.
Well good luck with that with "Donald The Dickhead" in charge !! :rofl :rofl :rofl

Unless he thinks there are votes in it for him the moron isnt interested!

Hopefully Bernie will sort it out when he takes over!

What do you think is happening around the Spratleys, Red? Paying attention to the voices other than those in your head might be a good idea for once.

Seriously though they are really becoming a worry!

I dont think the USA has the stomach for it either unless China does something really stupid.
I dont think any country could handle a WAR right now and that goes for China as well...

China is all mouth and of course MONEY....ND THATS WHAT THEY BLACKMAIL WITH

lets hope all these 3rd world countries that have signed up to their Belt and Road schemes....where they not only invest they build Infrastructure...

plus Victoria...... and we all know there has to be a catch.. but lets hope they are taking notes on how China is dealing with Australia

Hopefully Bernie will sort it out when he takes over!

Trump isn't a warmonger like Hillary/Obama/Biden. He is a businessman and would prefer to squash them economically unless they are a direct threat. China needs US trade far more than the US needs China.

The problem is that countries like Australia will bow to the Chinese and still trade with them.
Trump is just a show pony, not up to the real hard decisions!
I understand that having another country put China in their place would be of great benefit to you, but I'm not ready to go to war unless all other options are exhausted. Trump has flexed his negotiating muscles more than once and gotten us favorable results. Bringing our critical resource production home, not allowing our technology to be sent to China for theft, and evening the trade conditions would be a great start. At least we are energy independent and are rebuilding our military.
Yeah I understand Tex that everyone wants someone to take on China as long as its not them!

Militarily Trump is all crap in my opinion!

Our military are crap and we may as well surrender now unless we start spending big time in my opinion!

As I have said a few times I admire Israels IDF, which is what Australia needs , However Israels IDF is largely funded by the USA I gather.

I think Australia could fund a similar force itself if we didnt have wankers running the country imo!

Trump is doing something... He is devaluing the fiat currency of the world in preparation for WWIII!

I'm sure you all understand the impact upon China... Don't you?

Yeah what is happening apart from sailing a few ships through the area?

Meanwhile China has built some sort of military base on reclaimed islands and is thumbing its nose at all the the other countries that lay claim to some or all of them.

Alrighty then! The first thing you need to concede, before we can move on is that the USA is bankrupt! Their govt hasn't had a budget surplus since President Clinton.
The deficit occurs because the U.S. government spending of $4.75 trillion is higher than its revenue of $3.65 trillion. The deficit is 1% greater than last year. The FY 2019 budget created a $1.09 trillion deficit.
Of course, the deficit is much bigger now thanks to the virus. Does everyone agree? Nobody knows how bad it is because new fed rules prevent citizens from knowing, but wise minds estimate it to be more than 6 Trillion in US dollars.

Actually, I need to clarify... it is the US fiat currency that is bankrupt...
