The left blocking pandemic actions

Post by sprintcyclist » Wed Apr 29, 2020 5:00 pm

This happened to me today and I have heard of it occurring overseas.

I was discussing the 'Covid Safe' app with 2 people. They are of the political left.
Neither of them will get the app on as the Libs are in power.
They are making a political decision on what I see as a medical issue.

They are willing to risk my wellbeing, their wellbeing and that of their families for a political stance.
I am not happy about it.

Sad but typical. Everything is political and expressed constantly in a selfish and/or accusatory stance.

I wouldn't be happy about it either but I am not amongst lots of people every day and haven't really decided whether to download the App or not as yet.

yes, that is the word. I thought they were being selfish.
We're in a pandemic.
If the ALP were in power and they 'released the app', I'ld get it.
It is a pandemic

Yes, I'd research the App and decide either way no matter who was in power. It shouldn't be a political thing. That's how the right and left differ though.

We already live in a fish bowl. I wouldn't get the app.

When a lockdown is loosened this will help track any outbreaks.

If I was forced to download the app, I have already put forward an alternative strategy. I would place it on an old phone. I don't normally have bluetooth active on my normal phone anyway. It drains the battery too much. The Government has not reassured me sufficiently to trust them. They are storing the data on Amazon. The cloud is inherently insecure. There are insufficient means to secure it. This Tory Government are a bunch of turkeys. The ALP are a bunch of turkeys as far as data security is concerned. I would not trust any of them. QED.
