Re: Night Owls Chit Chat
Just went out and did some shopping. Kids everywhere UGH!! The shops were slightly quieter but not by much.
Toilet paper was back but not the one I usually buy but I didn't need any anyway. I'm exhausted, what an effort that was. It was actually worse than normal lol.

We come off our lock down on Tuesday, I went into work yesterday and set a job for an essential customer, but cant run the job because we don't have the material, so have had the day off today, We have a meeting lined up for 10 am tomorrow to work through the next couple of weeks, I will be in a 9 to have a pre meeting , with the company consultant and he is in for a serve , I have done some research and have found him to be somewhat lacking in his legal opinion of our covid 19 wage subsidy, I thought it would be better to sort these issues out before we put it to the company employees , It is going to be brutal as I am not a happy camper , I have just spoken to the director of the company and put my argument to him , he is running scared as he knows I will not take any prisoners,, . My position has always been, you fuck with me at your own peril, line up your ducks , get them in the right order , or I will shot them BANG!!Black Orchid wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 4:03 pmJust went out and did some shopping. I intend to do that but given the shut down here yesterday was my first opportunity to talk to the director face to face,, I had told him over the phone that if the value of my holiday pay was going to be effected i would resign effective immediately, as at present it owes me 8k and wasn't prepared to have it diluted , he offered to fix it at its present value, Im not sure how much i trust him to do that, and six months down the track the company may not have the funds to honor the agreement , so I will see how things go tomorrow then make the callBlack Orchid wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 4:52 pmI thought you were leaving the company but going back part time?

I've been essential and haven't missed any work, but our boss is taking advantage of the federal stimulus and doing week long furloughs to cut payroll. With unemployment insurance, I should break even and get a week off next month. As long as they don't use this chaos as an excuse to lay people off, we'll be ok.
On the lighter side, the Mrs. got bored and made me get cable tv and 200MBS internet. This is nice. I switched cell phone companies and bundled the cable and saved money. $$

My daughter in law called yesterday. They have a contract on selling their house. That's a huge relief. It makes me feel good about painting the house. I helped make them some money if nothing falls through on the purchase. I'm hoping she'll move down here for a few months before moving to the East coast. It'd be nice to get my hands on that grandbaby.

Glad to see they have someone interested so soon, Tex. I bet it was the painting that did it.
Yesterday when I went out I had to consciously keep saying to myself "Don't touch your face, don't touch your face!". By the time I got home I had almost gone loony tunes.

We had a good chat, I wasnt abusive , but left them under no illusions that I wasn't interested in their bullshit, I gave them two options, They lock in my holiday pay in at its present hourly rate approx $45 an hour or I would tender my resignation, effective immediately , They chose to lock it in lol,Black Orchid wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 6:07 pmGet it now and not later but I am sure you know how to handle it.
