Coronavirus - Will the US end up being the basket case

Post by Redneck » Mon Apr 20, 2020 9:06 am

Coronavirus - Will the US end up being the basket case of the world all due to Trumps mishandling of it.

Failing to support the governors attempts to limit it by strong closedowns.

Encouraging dissent by people disgruntled by the lock down.

Failing to adequately assist the governors in obtaining supplies of vital Medical and protection equipment

Continually undermining his medical experts advice! Fauci and others. (even talk of sacking Fauci)

Todays figures -763083 Cases, 24291 New Cases, 1481 New Deaths

I guess one should also take into account the size of the US around 328 Million

So obviously numbers will be high.

Texas starts opening up next week. I guess that makes us the Guinea Pig. I think the shutdown would be harder on Americans than the China virus.

Yeah I gather that!

I guess as someone mentioned on OzPol Africa and India might end up among the worst given their large populations and limited medical ability to cope.

All I know is that the sooner this runs it's course, the sooner I get to hug my Mom. It's been 2 months and she only lives 35 minutes away.

I am off to see my GP for the flu shot on Wednesday. He actually rang me a couple of weeks ago and told me off for not getting it but at the time the bloody virus was in full swing and the last place I wanted to go was a Doctor's Surgery - Waiting Room. I read that there have been no new cases in Canberra in the last few days, so I am risking it.

If you want to go to Higgins Chemist they do them (both for over 65s version and under 65's version.)

Just turn up !

Lucky you !

Mine is one of those thieving ones that charges something like $70 and I only get around $38 back. Trouble is she is a very good doctor and I am reluctant to change!

Where is yours at Nef, and is it one of those ones that charge about $100/year to join and then bulk bill after that?
