What have you been doing during the shut down

Post by sprintcyclist » Sun Apr 19, 2020 3:39 pm

I replaced our toilet seat, replaced some taps.
Did some modifications to the larder - slide out spice racks.
We have done at least 1 outing per day. A ride or a walk.
Planted a row of 'Blue Eyes; out the front.

This has been awful, I don't like it.

Knocked some dings out of my cheap day car.
Cleaned out the shed
Hung some new doors through the house
Painted a couple of rooms
Serviced the daughter's car
Cleaned out the gutters
Preparation for the painting of the other rooms in the house.
By the time we are finished every room will have been given a full makeover.

Next week, we will move into the guest bedroom while our bedroom is stripped and painted.
I have also been thinking of doing the garage up and making it look real perty.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

We are still working.
So my world has shrunk

I'm still working (with some OT). My family is home now. My youngest is finishing his school on line. He may not even get a graduation ceremony. We watch movies and play board games and eat a lot.

Yeah, I'm still working too.

But the Easter break was a busy one for me.

I hate just sitting around, it gets damn boring.

I have some important jobs over the next couple of weeks, but I think I'm going to paint a couple of rooms after that.

My Mother always said:
Man may work from sun to sun,
But woman's work is never done
No time to sit around getting bored. :D

I need to clean out the garage but with social distancing I can't get rid of things yet. Some to sell and some to donate.

It seems the ladies I know have busied themselves making face masks, elastic for them has been really hard to find.

I have never kept up with the yard work as well as now, I am averaging mowing and trimming about once a week.
I've cut down two smaller trees, cut up the branches and bagged them up for garbage pick up.
We run the streets about every other day getting take out or buying food for the animals and ourselves. We do not buy anything in high demand, the people that were not prepared need them.
Hand loaded almost a thousand 9mm 147grain ammo.
Working the garden and tending chickens.
Washed the Newfie twice already, if this keeps up she will be the cleanest dog in the neighborhood. She takes me for a walk several times a day.
Cleaned out a bedroom that had become a catch all and waiting to take a large load of donations to goodwill. Most of the rest went to the street for trash pick up.
Hung new porch and driveway lights.
Read five books so far I was meaning to get to and still have a few more.

It isn't that I have been super busy, it is just that I have so much time on my hands.
