And just when you thought it was safe to open your front door...Chinese Wet Markets Reopen

Get ready for the next pandemic, bigger and more deadly.

Chinese Markets Reopen — And They Still Sell Bats, Dogs And Cats

Live animals are still for sale in Chinese food markets that reopened after the country recently declared victory over coronavirus.

Cages full of cats and dogs waiting for slaughter and the unsanitary preparation of animals is again reportedly a common sight in Chinese food markets, often called wet-markets, according to in-country correspondents with the Daily Mail.

China ordered that its wet-markets be shut down in January, after facts emerged suggesting that coronavirus was first transmitted to humans via bats and other live animals sold in the often filthy places of commerce, according to Business Insider. However, now that China says it’s beaten the virus, the markets seem to have resumed business as usual.

“The markets have gone back to operating in exactly the same way as they did before coronavirus,” said a Daily Mail correspondent who observed the markets re-opening Dongguan. “The only difference is that security guards try to stop anyone taking pictures which would never have happened before.”

Another correspondent in Guilin, a city in southwest China, photographed a sign advertising bats, snakes, spiders, lizards and scorpions for sale as remedies for common illnesses. (RELATED: Scientists Warned That Bats And Chinese Wet Markets Could Foster The Next Pandemic — In 2013)

Images have also begun to circulate on social media of traditional Chinese foods considered odd by Western standards for sale in the newly reopened wet markets.

CNBC host Jim Cramer tweeted out a video of live scorpions for sale. https://twitter.com/i/status/1231739352566378496

Although China says it’s beaten COVID-19, many are skeptical about how honest the ruling Chinese Communist Party has been in reporting infection statistics throughout the pandemic. National Review says it has identified dozens of instances in which China lied to the world about the virus in its borders.

China has recorded 82,342 cases of the virus, according to Our World In Data. The first case appeared in Wuhan in November, reports LiveScience.

And if you thought it was bad it is even worse!!!!!

Chris Roberts Out of all the wet markets allowed to run in China, why did the virus begin in Wuhan? Was it because of the access to international transport hubs? Almost every village has a so called “wet” market, yet only Wuhan was effected? Me thinks there was more to this story!

Leon Wreyford Just like radiation leaks (Fukushima, Chernobyl etc) Viral leaks potentially impacting the Globe require independent onsite UN inspection. It is way beyond self-policing .. (surely the bat lab located by the epicenter should be checked out too)

Sonia Griffiths I believe there is also a very high level laboratory in the city where it all began, also, technician who worked in a Canadian facility, was given the boot, and left with who knows what, returned to the facility in Wuhan. Was this just co-incidental? Who knows....

Guy LeBlanc Smith The bioengineered SARS-COV-2 virus (that causes COVID19 disease) has also been reported to be an 'escape' from the p4 Wuhan bio-research laboratory.
Anecdotal reports indicate that infected research-surviving rhinolophus bats were sold to the wet market. The HIV homology in the virus is very suspicious.

Lynda Dowling I saw a video clip of these wet markets - one man just threw one of these dogs live into a wok - I felt sick!!
How is this allowed?

Colin Butcher To subject ones own to a viral outbreak and have what is in China an acceptable mortality rate is not new. Could this have been unleashed to further the financial war that they are waging with the western world. When our nations are broken and in need of more capital to where do our purse string holders turn? Block Chinese investment and purchase now, its about to grow ten fold and our politicians with their guaranteed pensions and blind egos do not care.

Kris Rambler Apart from that if wet markets were really source of spreading coronavirus they are horrendous crimes against animals and very unhygienic places which can be dangerous for health

Is Victorian Premier Australia's greatest traitor? Or is that title still held by Sam Dastyari or Bob Carr or Andrew Robb? It's a closely tied field of anti-Australian actors.

Dan Andrews has sold his state out to import Chinese workers to work on Chinese Communist Party projects in Victoriastan.

Italy and Iran also signed up to the China Belt and Road program. In Italy this China deal has lead to 300,000 imported Chinese workers, putting locals out of work - who spread COVID-19 through the Tuscanny region after being allowed by China to return to Italy after Chinese New Year, when the pandemic was at its peak in China.

China's interest is to spread its political and economic influence globally, using dopes like Dan Andrews.

Victoria deepens engagement with Beijing's controversial Belt and Road initiative

Whenever Premier Daniel Andrews is attacked over his cosy relationship with China, he says the deal is in the interest of the state's economy.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has signed a new deal with the Chinese Government to deepen the state's engagement with the controversial Belt and Road initiative.

The deal has angered some in the Morrison Government who are worried about Chinese influence in Australia, but the Premier, who is a frequent visitor to China, says the deal is designed to boost the Victorian economy and jobs.

So, what is this new deal?
It's technically a non-legally binding agreement for Victoria to be involved in the Belt and Road project; the Silk Road for the 21st century that includes new ports, highways and railways across the globe.

It is essentially a commitment by Victoria to work together with Beijing on future projects for the benefit of both parties.

Mr Andrews will co-chair a group that will meet half yearly.

A big part is for Victorian infrastructure experts to get access to the hundreds of billions of dollars of projects slated for the Belt and Road.

But it also encourages Chinese infrastructure firms to establish a presence in Victoria and to bid for major projects.

Two Chinese firms are part of bids for the $16 billion North-East Link.

Some critics have accused Mr Andrews of hypocrisy after he introduced laws ensuring local procurement for all government projects.

What will Victoria get out of it?
Foreign policy doesn't usually fall under the jurisdiction of state governments, but essentially it will mean a bigger market to sell wine, beef and lamb, as well as an opportunity for Victorian institutions to teach future Chinese doctors.

International education is already the state's biggest export.

Voicing public support for a major Chinese foreign policy initiative is likely to ease the way for Chinese companies to get approval from Beijing to make investments in Victoria, and for Victorian-based companies to sell to China.

For example, the partial granting in April of a licence for Bellamy's infant formula to sell Chinese-labelled product after years of delay came just days before a visit by Mr Andrews to Beijing for a Belt and Road forum.

But was that a coincidence? Whenever Mr Andrews is attacked over his cosy relationship with China, he says the deal is in the interest of the state's economy.

What's in it for China?
For Beijing, it's all about politics.

China's cashed-up state-owned and private companies don't need much encouragement to look for investment opportunities abroad — political leaders from across the globe come to Beijing on a near-daily basis asking for Chinese funding.

Having already been stung by a few unviable infrastructure projects in Sri Lanka and Pakistan, Chinese companies would likely weigh up the merits of Victorian deals rather than splash cash recklessly.

The real value for China is diplomatic.

Belt and Road is designed to help maintain economic growth in China through Chinese companies using Chinese materials and sometimes Chinese labour to build infrastructure in other countries, usually developing nations.

But it is also designed to grow China's clout abroad by making countries economically dependent on Beijing, and has been written into the Communist Party's constitution as a sign of its importance.

This political imperative partly explains the Federal Government's refusal to formally sign Australia up.

So China's Government is thrilled it can bypass Canberra by doing deals directly with a state government — and hopes more deals with other states could pressure the Federal Government to change its policy in future.

It would be unthinkable for a Chinese province to break ranks with Beijing on a major foreign policy issue like Victoria is doing, which also helps to explain the frustration of the Morrison Government having its diplomacy undermined.

Why do I have the suspicion that China let this disease ravage their country, incinerated anybody needing a hospital, and now with the disease behind them and everybody healthy they are poised to take over the world economy?
Several weeks back I commented on a Robert Gottliebson (usually writes about corporate affairs and govt regulation) article in The Australian, in which he mentioned a conspiracy theory in China regarding the PRC Army's biological warfare testing facility in Wuhan had let this virus out accidently had gone viral on We Chat.
A bit over a week ago in Bundy I posed the question to an associate .. What if it wasn't an accident? ... What if it was a deliberate biological attack on free market capitalism so China can buy up everything after the crisis on the cheap?

Seems I'm not the only one with such suspicions. In yesterday's Australian was a cartoon with 3 characters in hazmat suits bearing biohazard symbols in an apocalyptic portrayal of Sydney and 1 says to the other 2 "I can now categorically rule out a Chinese biological attack" ... No doubt the Chinese admin will be fuming, in a similar manner to them said to be furious when our fed govt banned flights from China.

If the suspicion is correct, I also suspect this entire scenario will backfire on China ... because now the whole world is dirty on them.
In Italy people are being beaten up for looking Chinese, and in Wednesday's local rag issue the News-Mail was a report about a South Korean woman/backpacker being beaten up over corona-virus/Wuhan flu/COVID 19.

I won't be surprised if numerous countries now adopt Trump inspired import duties on Chinese goods.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

The horse has already bolted on that. They have already cleaned us out.
We have local distilleries making hand sanitizer for emergency personel and sometimes the general public. They ask that you bring them empty bottles to fill. Any of you backyard chemists should get the recipe.
Yeah us too. Bundy Rum is now making ethanol for hand sanitiser.
I just tried to buy bleach .. no go.
On Wednesday I for the 1st time in a month found toilet paper on a supermarket shelf (tried 5 supermarkets in Bundy last week to no avail) ... $4.50 for 4 rolls ... usually I pay $4 or $5 for 12 rolls.

We haven't had any hand sanitizer for a long time where I shop. It's easy enough to make but you can't even buy the Isopropyl or Aloe Vera gel. It's all cleaned out.

Most of the distilleries are in more rural areas and not near me but that's a good idea. I should drag the still out of the garage and make some myself to hand around. The biggest problem is that I have no empty bottles and I've half forgotten how to use it.
Aloe Vera hey? ... cool, I grow it, got heaps.
Ah now I'm inspired ... a couple of moths ago I bought a stainless steel still (for distilling alcohol) from a scrap yard for $10.

Well according to a letter to the editor in the last few day's Australian, the 1918 Spanish flu (which originated in China) came in 3 waves.
The 1st wave hit the elderly ... then it mutated and hit everyone, youth included.
Apparently there's 8 strains already.
