yes, I am not entirely agreeable to 'giving away money' to make problems go away.Texan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 4:12 amI'll go along with this as a one time deal, but this just makes more people dependent on government. I would have voted against it. We need to use this current downtime to isolate and protect our vulnerable and then get back to work. After the disease has ran it's course and we have developed a herd immunity, we can ease our protection of the vulnerable. We can still practice hand washing and social distancing and whatever else is good for our health. Our wealth in America depends on our freedom and work ethic.sprintcyclist wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 2:17 am........... Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
I just signed the CARES Act, the single biggest economic relief package in American History – twice as large as any relief bill ever enacted. At $2.2 Trillion Dollars, this bill will deliver urgently-needed relief for our nation’s families, workers, and businesses .....................
My brother and I are taking turns going shopping for our parents. We drop groceries on their doorstep and Mom leaves us baked goods. My parents have a very nice home and Dad rarely leaves home anyway except to go to the home improvement store for supplies. (He's constantly remodeling or installing something.) They do lawn maintenance and clean house for exercise, have very high speed internet and 300 channels on the television. They can phone or video chat with whomever they want, so it's not like a prison. I just wish I could go inside and visit with them. I'm sure it's annoying them also.

I think with Trump it will only be a one time deal. If any of the Dems were at the helm at this time it would be a time to really worry but that isn't the case.
Trump wants people out working again and businesses up and running.

Then the left should act like it. On another forum, I had a leftist try to suggest that we should long term test the chlorequine treatment and get back to work after November. (Our elections are in early November.) By then, all small businesses would be closed and almost everybody would be dependent on a government check for groceries. I don't know about Australia, but the left in America has gone guano crazy for socialism.Redneck wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 1:10 pmTalking rightwing bullshit as usual BO!Black Orchid wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 1:04 pmI think with Trump it will only be a one time deal. Tell that to the socialist/Marxists you so blindly support. In the US that would be the Democrats but in Aus it's the GREEN side of the ALP.Redneck wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 1:10 pmTalking rightwing bullshit as usual BO!Black Orchid wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 1:04 pmI think with Trump it will only be a one time deal. But just saying the USA would be worse off if the dems were in charge is biased nonsense, they would be advised by the best medical experts in your country on how to handle the pandemic as Trump is.
They would also be made well aware of the economic long term impacts and would be planning accordingly
Hopefully they wouldnt be trying to downplay the seriousness of the situation
Socialism..... Australia doesnt wet its pants every time the government does something for its people like universal health care similar to the UK and most of Europe.
Is Trump a socialist now handing out these billions to his people, I dont think so!

Trump is a mixed bag. He puts America first and he knows who his base is. He works tirelessly toward fulfilling his campaign promises. Occaisionally, he mispeaks or says something to cross his base and we let him know. Red laws on gun confiscation was one of those issues where he backtracked quickly to keep his base. This stimulus isn't capitalist or conservative. It's a blanket payment to everyone and it wreaks of socialism. Stimulus should be targeted to those who need it and geared to getting our vulnerable to a protected state so that we can get our economy going again.Redneck wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 1:38 pmLook twits on forums from both sides make stupid statements.Texan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 1:18 pmThen the left should act like it. Did you see the list of crap that Pelosi tried to attach to the stimulus bill? Do you think Biden or Sanders would pass that crap? You bet they would.

Red only sees what suits his hive mind and ignores the rest. I have posted this numerous times but I will post it again. This is supposed to be a RELIEF package in a time of crisis for the slow learners! Let's see him either try to justify it or just ignore it again.Texan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 1:42 pmDid you see the list of crap that Pelosi tried to attach to the stimulus bill?
