http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/keneally-thre ... -s0w4.htmlTHE Premier, Kristina Keneally, is telling people behind closed doors that she will scuttle Kevin Rudd's health and hospitals reform plan if the demands of NSW are not met.
Using tough language that contrasts with her generally optimistic public statements about crunching a deal, Ms Keneally has told the main unions representing health and allied workers that NSW would stand alone and kill the plan if need be.

Re: kruddys sick health plan
RESERVE Bank board member Roger Corbett has attacked Kevin Rudd's hospital reform plan as "bizarre", and a "formula for disaster", as the Prime Minister today prepares to release a $739 million injection to aged-care services as a sweetener to break the deadlock with the states.
The former Woolworths chief executive, who chairs the Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney's west, described the plan as "almost grotesque" and praised Victorian Premier John Brumby and Kristina Keneally of NSW for resisting elements of the blueprint, arguing it would not end the blame game and would add to confusion.
"It's not going to resolve anything. In fact, it's conceivably going to significantly worsen the situation," Mr Corbett told the Seven Network.
His intervention comes as negotiations between the premiers and Mr Rudd enter a final week ahead of next Monday's Council of Australian Government's meeting.

kruddy loses, it's official
http://www.theaustralian.com.au/politic ... 5854563961THE NSW government has rejected the 30 per cent clawback of the GST proposed by Kevin Rudd under his health plans.
The decision appears to make it more difficult for Kevin Rudd to prevail with his hospitals reform plan at Monday's meeting of premiers.
With Queensland, South Australia, the Northern Territory and Tasmania backing the Prime Minister's $50 billion health plan, the NSW decision had been seen as pivotal ahead of the COAG meeting.
Victoria and Western Australia have outright rejected the GST clawback.
NSW Premier Kristina Keneally said after a cabinet meeting today that she supported 90 per cent of the reforms but wanted to retain control of GST revenue.

Fuck! Don't you have anything to say for yourself other than cut and paste?
Re: kruddys sick health plan
It's not dead until after the COAG meeting ends. Rudd may add some mental health initiatives at the last minute to sweeten his deal - we'll just have to wait and see.
Either way, tomorrow is going to be one of the most significant COAG agendas we've seen.

Re: kruddys sick health plan
Krudd will end up throwing a bucket of money at the states because he will want to walk out of COAG looking like he is the supreme negotiator. He's been throwing crumbs up until now to make it look like a positive outcome will be difficult but at COAG he will fold like a cheap suit.
Nothing positive for health will come from it, just another layer of bureaucracy and Krudd will trumpet that he is so fucking wonderful.
Only fuckwits believe that this govt is capable of doing anything except throwing money around for fuck all
