(CNN)President Donald Trump's predictions that victory is close in the coronavirus crisis are becoming increasingly impossible to square with the harrowing escalation of America's battle against the pandemic.

Trump on Tuesday spied "light at the end of the tunnel" and envisioned packed church pews at Easter as America breaks free of stay-at-home orders and marks the return of its "raring to go" economy.

"I thought it was a beautiful time. A beautiful timeline," the President said Tuesday, making clear that his target date to open the nation by April 12 -- less than three weeks away -- was driven by sentiment and symbolism, not medical data on the virus's fast-tightening grip on the nation.

I got me some dunny paper at Coles today, a Quilton 20 pack for $10. I'd swear before this schitstorm started it was $10 for 24 rolls.

That's a nice little price gouge.

I usually get the Quilton Gold 4 ply and it's 24 rolls for $12 or $12.50. I haven't been able to get that but I did get a Quilton 3 ply 20 roll pack for $10 as well but I have no idea how many rolls are usually in that pack.

Walking around the shops today people are actually being really courteous and nice. When you can't get your trolley past someone in the isle you usually exchange death stares, now everyone is like, after you...no after you.

I had 6xColes soy milks (boy is allergic to cow) and the checkout dude said I could only buy two. I said that's what I normally buy in my fortnightly shop and he said sorry, it will only let me ring thru 2. The two people in the queue behind me offered to buy x2 of them if I wait....how nice is that.

I read part of it. Trump wants to purchase surplus medical supplies from South Korea as they seem to be flattening the curve there.

My immediate reaction was "So what?". I don't see any problem with that. Again I say "So what?"
