Queensland Health Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young says the state is preparing for up to 1.25 million people to become infected with COVID-19, with up to 250,000 requiring hospital care and as many as 12,500 deaths over a six-month period.
But she says 80 per cent of people who develop the novel coronavirus will have a “very, very mild disease”. ...........
Usually about 30,000 deaths per annum QLD

cheerful post sprint.....isnt that all guesswork?....
I am over guess the future lets all follow some basic rules
it should be too hard even for the stooopid......
our anti social behavior is being tested..no more push and shove to be first....
lets be realistic humans are passing this on to other humans......
because of people with no social conscience and who think the rules dont apply to them
the govt having to close down our beaches is a good example of that...

Queues are forming a mile long all over the country as the peasants line up to prove their
identity for their claim for Newstart, after losing their jobs due to the corona virus...
With a little foresight, they could be proving their identity on line...maybe by the end of the
year our grubberment will have that facility available...that's if MyGov recovers after crashing
this morning....
Queues everywhere.....its a trainwreck……...

HOW TO HELP YOURSELF WARD OFF THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
There's a recording doing the (viral) rounds online which gives credible advice on daily practices you can take to help yourself from contracting the virus. Much of this is also in official advice, but this goes a little further in terms of cleanliness and warm foods and drinks.
This is the text version:
The Chinese now understand the behaviour of the COVIDE-19 virus thanks to autopsies that they have carried out.
This virus is characterised by obstructing respiratory pathways, with thick mucus that solidifies and blocks the airways and lungs.
So, they have discovered that in order to be able to apply a medicine you have to open and unblock these airways so that the treatment can be used to take effect.
However, all of this takes a number of days.
Their recommendations for what you can do to safeguard yourself are:
1. Drink lots of hot liquids - coffee, soups, tea, warm water. In addition, take a sip of warm water every 20 minutes, because this keeps your mouth moist and washed any of the virus that’s entered from your mouth into your stomach before it can get into the lungs.
2. Gargle with an antiseptic in warm water, like vinegar or salt or lemon - every day if possible.
3. The virus attaches itself to hair and clothes. Any detergent or soap kills it, but you must take a bath or a shower when you get in from the street. Avoid sitting down anywhere and go straight to the bathroom and shower . If you cannot wash your clothes daily, hang them in direct sunlight which also neutralizes the virus.
4. Wash metallic surfaces very carefully because the virus can remain viable on these for up to nine days. Take note and be vigilant about touching hand rails and door handles etc. Within your own houses as well you can ensure that you are keeping these clean and wiping them down regularly.
5 Don’t smoke!
6. Wash your hands every 20 minutes using any soap that foams. Do this for 20 seconds, and wash your hands thoroughly.
7. East Fruits and vegetables. Try to elevate your zinc levels.
8. Animals do not spread the virus to people. This is person-to-person transmission.
9. Try to avoid getting the common flu because this weakens your system. And try avoiding eating or drinking cold things.
10. If you feel any discomfort in your throat - or a sore throat coming on, attack it immediately using the above methods.
The virus enters the system this way and remains for 3 or 4 days within the throat before it passes into the lungs.
You may like to pass this information on.

Very good explanation of whether you are dying from COVID-19 or not. Have you lost your sense of smell ?
Coronavirus explained: What you need to know about getting sick, treatment and future vaccines

Losing your sense of smell could be one of the first signs you have COVID-19, Flinders University experts say.
Ear nose and throat (ENT) surgeons said loss of smell was reported in one in three COVID-19 patients in Korea and in Germany it was one in two patients.
Flinders University Professor Simon Carney said the virus causes swelling in the nasal passages and mucus related to smelling and could be used as an indicator of the virus in symptom-free carriers of COVID-19.
“It is these ‘silent carriers’ who may remain undetected by current screening procedures, which may explain why the disease has progressed so rapidly in so many countries around the world,” he said.
“An ENT professor in London has reported seeing a dramatic increase in patients with anosmia as their only symptom of COVID-19 infection,” he said.
As Australia struggles to contain the spread of COVID-19-10, identification of these carriers could help to slow the spread of infection.

I lost most of my sense of smell 3-4 years ago. I'm not sure why. I still smell sweet and citrus smells, but skunks, BO, flatulence, and such are muted and bearable for me. Works for me. I just bathe extra to make sure I'm not offensive.Juliar wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 9:02 amVery good explanation of whether you are dying from COVID-19 or not. Have you lost your sense of smell ?
