Buttigieg ends historic presidential campaign,
urges unity
Buttigieg rose from being a small-town Midwestern mayor, becoming first openly gay candidate to seriously contend for the presidency.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Pete Buttigieg, who rose from being an Indiana mayor to a barrier-breaking, top-tier candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, ended his campaign on Sunday.

“The truth is the path has narrowed to a close for our candidacy if not for our cause,” Buttigieg told supporters in South Bend, Indiana. “We must recognize that at this point in the race, the best way to keep faith with those goals and ideals is to step aside and help bring our party and country together.”

The decision came just a day after one of Buttigieg’s leading rivals, former Vice President Joe Biden, scored a resounding victory in South Carolina that sparked new pressure on the party’s moderate wing to coalesce behind Biden.

Tom Steyer pulled out as well. What's funny is that his ads are still running like crazy in Texas. I guess they didn't want to give Steyer his money back.

And now Amy Klobuchar just folded her tent.

Could be the Democrat establishment trying to consolidate their forces to take down Bolshevik Bernie before he amasses enough delegates to win the nomination.

Not sure it'll be successful, though ... especially when their best alternative candidate is a blathering codger who can't remember which years he was vice president, what office he's running for or what state he's in.

Buttigieg wouldn't have even won his own state in the presidential election. Indiana is Trump Country.

Buttigieg and Klobachar pulling out at the same time before Super Tuesday is kind of suspicious. It's like they are coordinating with Biden against Sanders. After all, they have spent all of that money on advertising and they are quitting 2 days before finding out how they did. I think Biden bought them off with political appointment promises. I think Bloomberg will be the spoiler that prevents anybody from getting a majority of the votes and forces the Democrats into a brokered convention. If BS gets cheated out of the nomination again, I think there will be violence.

"In a surprise moment at the end of his Dallas rally on the eve of Super Tuesday, former Vice President Joe Biden called former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke up to the stage -- and vowed to put O'Rourke, who has said the government should forcibly seize assault rifles from Americans, in charge of gun-control efforts."

I don't think this will work out too well for ol' Joe. Stupid move at a critical time.

Joe just blew any chance he had of beating Bernie in TX. At least Bernie is smart enough to keep his mouth shut.

Aussies are fed a lot of left wing media bias and I saw this earlier.
Pay attention to the number of delegates each candidate is winning. The more delegates they have, the better they're doing.

There are also two states you want to pay attention to — California and Texas. They're the most populous US states, and they also have the two biggest delegate prizes (415 for California and 228 for Texas).

Texas has been a Republican stronghold in the south for generations, but changing demographics mean it's slowly turning Democratic.

Who Texan Democrats vote for in the primary, and how many of them actually show up to vote, will give us a fascinating insight into one of the key states at the November election.

Is Texas turning blue? That would be a disaster for the whole country.

Democrats are cheating like crazy and bringing in as many liberals and foreigners as they can to taint Texas, but we are still solidly red and many illegals will turn red after they become legal for a few years. They will resent supporting "foreigners" just like the rest of us, so their is long term hope as well. Also, many Catholics (Mexicans) are very conservative in many issues already. The Dems were energized in the primary because they actually had a race for the presidency. Republicans are only voting down ballot and platform initiatives.

I predicted that Biden lost TX after last nights comments. Earlier with 1% of precincts in, Biden was ahead of Sanders by 2%. This consisted mostly of the ballots from early voting. This was before his comments. With 21% of the precincts reporting, Sanders is now ahead of Biden by 6%. Bloomberg is 2% behind Biden.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Milwaukee turn into 1968 Chicago when the Democrat convention comes to town.

Bernie's followers want a socialist revolution, not a kumbaya moment with the Biden campaign. If they perceive that Bernie got aced out of the nomination, it's not going to be a quiet night on the streets of MIlwaukee.
