Re: Night Owls Chit Chat
I purchased a clay thrower on sunday, A sit on one, 300 clays and 250 rounds of ammo, To go with the stoeger m2000 autoloader I purchased last week. took it down the back of the property and nailed a few claws, My daughter Sophie operated the thrower for me, It was a lot fun, I have a bit of a sore shoulder this week, The stoeger has a lot of recoil, I will machine up a modified choke with an integral muzzel brake in it ,

My wife's nephew has a trailer hitch mounted clay launcher. We launch them out over the pond. I don't have a sporting shotgun, so I just borrow theirs when they are shooting. I grew up in the suburbs of Dallas and never got into hunting. Doesn't the semiauto shotgun use some of the recoil to cycle the ammo or is it too little to notice. 12ga or 20ga?
My youngest inherited a double barrel .410, but the only shotgun I have is a 12ga pump action Mossberg 500 with a 20" barrel and a 7+1 capacity. It's set up for home defense. We have lots of pistols. Most are 9mm.
I have a stripped AR lower, but I haven't decided what I want to build and in what caliber.

The stoeger is recoil operated not gas operated, and are a lighter gun than others I have used, its in 12g, I have read they are a little punchy, there is a hole up through the stock where weight can be added and with a muzzle brake it should tame the beast lolTexan wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 1:05 pmMy wife's nephew has a trailer hitch mounted clay launcher. My Sunday school teacher bought his wife a new pistol at a gun show today and started a multi-text with all of the men in the class. I didn't realize we had so many gun nuts in one room. I counted at least 9 guns in a room of 30 people. We are planning a class range outing. Someone is even bringing their dueling tree for competition.
We went to the gun show, but my wife only bought a cow hide conceal carry purse. I had my broken holster replaced free of charge.

Sounds like fun Tex, we have the odd gun show here but they would be pretty tame by your standards, There is one coming up , not sure of the exact date. Im in the market for an original cap and ball revolver, you dont need a licence here for antique weapons,Texan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 12:01 pmMy Sunday school teacher bought his wife a new pistol at a gun show today and started a multi-text with all of the men in the class. We had about 400 tables of mostly new guns, knives, and related accessories. The big show in Fort Worth usually has 1200 tables. Everyone is very polite and it's always fun to talk to people that you normally wouldn't. I've seen Confederate flag wearing rednecks having pleasant conversations with inner city black folks. Everybody there has a common enjoyment of legal and responsible gun ownership and race is not an issue. People share opinions with strangers on different firearms and the best place to buy them. People are constantly thanking veterans for their military service. We often share "war stories". The term "sir" or "maam" just spills off of the tongues of everybody in a respectful way. It's kind of overwhelming in that respect.

Being proud of your heritage doesnt make you a racist, Most peeps with a balanced view of history will acknowledge that slavery isn't cool , whether that be in the Americas or Europe, the difference with Europe is they were enslaving their own peeps. lol

I agree but the PC crowd has seemed the Confederate Battle Flag to be a racist symbol. They have been on a rampage the last few years defacing and protecting Confederate statues and memorials.

So I'm spending the week in Kansas painting my son's house so his wife can sell it. My son made it safely to South Korea and he will be there for a while. He only owned the house for 16 months, but with a fresh coat of paint inside, he should make a little profit. He bought the house at a good price. When he returns home. he will be stationed on the East Coast.
