My alma mater, Franklin College of Indiana, recently had to endure a similar scandal when outgoing president Thomas Minar was arrested in Wisconsin. The details aren't pretty.

Minar was arrested while trying to meet a teenager after a sexually explicit chat on an online dating site. According to the criminal complaint in the case, Minar was using a cell phone app called "Grindr," which is a platform "commonly used by gay males to meet other males to meet up for sexual encounters," when he began contacting a person he thought was a 15-year-old boy. That person was actually an undercover police officer.

Not surprisingly, he was immediately fired as president of the college. But alumni lament the fact that he was still president when he flitted off to Wisconsin in pursuit of adolescent companionship.

Obviously, education has nothing to do with judgment ... or morality.

Or, to quote a line from the movie "Used Cars" -- "Don't let the little head do the thinking for the big head."

It seems that pedophiles are everywhere.

It's not only Catholics, Bobby, it happens in ALL institutionalised establishments and yes he should definitely be punished.
How could an intelligent man with a Master of Arts, Graduate Diploma of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts -

make such an appalling error of judgement - or -
maybe it was deliberate and he was part of a satanic pedophile ring?

I just can't get my head around what he did.
If he makes 'such an appalling error of judgement, he should not be in any position of responsibility

The committee should sack him
