wish they would hurry up with the NBN!
Can you imagine internetting at 2Gbps? Would fly! No more stupid data download limits!
A combined 100mbps internet + phone package for $35/month! Speed and economy!

Re: Peter Martin makes himself look silly
The average broadband plan is anywhere between $60-$100 per month. $35/per month under the NBN? Not happening.
Re: Peter Martin makes himself look silly
Will happen. Telstra is setting retail and wholesale prices to suit itself, that will change with the NBN
Re: Peter Martin makes himself look silly
Which government policy did you see this $35 per month estimate in? The only reference I could find was an opinion by some guy named Possum and it was just that - an opinion and even then it was just a skeleton plan. The average household will demand more data download quotas which will cost more than $35 per month if today's prices are anything to go by. The NBN won't be in government hands for long. Rudd said he plans to sell it off once it's functioning. Then what?
Re: Peter Martin makes himself look silly
Yup, saw that in Possum.
That $43Bn price tag is way over the top too, $25Bn more like it.
We are the only country to have download limits, thanks to Telstra. They will go.
